Not the Vader man himself!! Lucas, how you can continue to cappify Star Wars once you're done with the films is beyond me,
but hopefully it turns out good.

It looks cool, dont get me mistaken, but it's crappified cus you don;t get to be Darth Vader! The best choke-a-bitch dude in the SW universe.

Also, Vader is way more badass when he's just standing there or doing things that aren't very active. Aside from Vader's rush to Palpatine in Return of the Jedi to toss him off, which was incredibly cool and possibly my favorite Star Wars moment, Vader isn't very active and he doesn't look as cool active as he does when he just intimidates the shit out of you with his presence. I like this Apprentice idea, but obviously he has to die, otherwise we would have heard something of him in the movies, or he wouldn't have tried to take on Luke as an apprentice in Empires Strikes Back? :-/

[UPDATE] LucasArts makes it official with Web destination dating, detailing new Star Wars game, which casts players as Darth Vader's apprentice; DS, PS2, and PSP versions also planned. umm i thought 360 and PC where getting this as well?

Play as Vader? I hope you can choke the crap outta em!! Hopefully they dont cut any corners with this technology on the finished version to improve performance. Stuff like this can only improve gaming and take it to new levels!

More details:

The game will be focused on the solo gameplay , But an online mode is being worked.
Only the Xbox360 and PS3 verion of the game are developed by Lucasarts.
Krome Studios will make the PSP/PS2 version and N-Space the NDS one.
A WII version has been discussed but it would have nothing to do with controlling a lightsaber....

There will be Novels and comic books after the game is being released, as well As action figures. because this is the direct link to the StarWars trilogy and follows the tradition of the movies universe and not the expanded universe.

It will have multiple endings.

A new planet has been revealed : Haroon ( the crystal planet on the pics).

As we know, the game will use DMM ansd Euphoria engines But it will use the last version of Havok too ( used in Gears Of War and UT2007) :

Euphoria will be the AI engine
Havok the Physic Engine ( collision & particules etc )
DMM the environment interactive engine ( advanced physic engine with realistic interaction).

Master jedi Shaak Ti , is alive , and we will duel against her and her army of rancors that she controls. There's a rumour which tells that the player will have to be swallowed by one rancor and use ' force burst " or to explose inside their stomach to kill them.

The main character that we will control will not be customized...He is a part of the story.

There are few names that have been relvealed so far :

Juno Eclipse : An imperial Officier
Marris Brood : A punk jedi
Generak kota : A general jedi.
