On-topic: I don't know what will come of this but I highly doubt it will happen.
I am very sure EA wants to be rid of 2kSports though. They are destroying EAs sales of yearly crap. EA still sells a lot but not as much as they would if 2kSports wasn't around with their good games.

I hope that 2k Sports see beyond the money though, I really do. I haven't even played a 2k game in my life but I can clearly see that this is not a good thing what-so-ever.

Considering EA still has the NFL license this could be a blessing in disguise if EA would actually allow the 2K Sports team input on their sports titles... Overall I agree this would not be the best thing for the consumer, but who knows perhaps EA would let 2K do there own thing with little input like BIG & Criterion... Peace

I can see why they would. The exclusive NFL license is almost up (it wasn't indefinite) and 2k sports has been doing their homework for when the contract is over and they can release a next generation football game. And EA hates competition. I remember when Sega announced it was going 3rd party, EA was allll in a stink. Funny though that Sega's going third party didn't produce so many AAA games...mostly 7/10s..virtua fighter (aka the glory) and shitty sonic titles. Oh and that billy hatcher motherfucker. But I digress. I hope this buyout doesn't happen. All the madden's since EA got the exclusive rights have been on a steady decline. when the two had to compete they were both great 9/10, 10/10 games, trying to one up each other. This will only end in tears if they do buy them out.

Only if, ONLY IF, like Nameless said, they are allowed to chill and do their own thing like BIG and Criterion. But even still, overall I think it'd be best for them to stay away from something like this, well, mainly best for us gamers.

Come to think of it though, Sony picking up 2K sports wouldn't be a bad move at all, but I don't see them doing this. I think they are 'satisfied' with their own sports titles right now, I don't think they want to undermine one of their own studios whilst picking this one up. It's questionable to how much benefit Sony would get from picking this up, I can't see them even thinking about it. They have a brand in NHL and NBA and MLB, and one sucks, one is ok, and one is really good, but they all sell comfortably enough anyways.
