Rumor: Lost Planet Wars coming to PS3?

promised a few surprises last week, so all of you put me on a limb here. Here’s some interesting tidbits, that only the Rumor Reporter… that’s right - your Bruce Kelly - found out over the weekend.

First of all, we know about the success that Lost Planet for the Xbox 360 received, critically and publicly. A friend close to the happenings at Capcom has revealed an upcoming next-generation title that justifies Capcom’s loyalty to this new series. Introducing, Lost Planet Wars. Expected to be coming out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, nothing yet is much known about the title, other than its ties to the already released Xbox 360 action game. Could it be a strategy title, MMO? I’ll have more details in the coming weeks, but you read it here first.

Sounds like a RTS to me. I hope Sony finally gets on the bandwagon and makes a few RTSs...

I don't think this is true...as a game maker, Capcom would be more aware of the "Wars" tagline with Halo Wars coming. Sounds like a fan-based rumor.

I agree. I dislike these rumors of major AAA exclusives jumping shift. everything is possible, but come on now, at least have something to work with.

Lets just say I could see Tidus pulling such a stunt, but not Capcom. You just don't name your game that closely to something else...and as far as I can remember, hasn't ever really been done.

Can't we just wait for a real announcement.. this games going here there crap is getting annoying, the speculation of this kind of stuff I just find too much. Can't we just focus on 'the game' until the official word actually comes, then accept that, and focus on the game again?

Didnt much care for Lost Planet to begin with, but if the PS3 can pick up a spin off or continuation of the series then it would be a good acquisition for them.

I wouldn't want this to happen. I'd like all the consoles to keep valuable exclusives so I have a motive to buy each of them at some point in the future.

The reason I like Playstation so much is the variety of exclusives that I actually care for. Xbox 360's doing alright with that this gen too, and I'd like them to keep it up cause I want a reason to buy one.

I liked Lost Planet, I'd give it 8 out of 10 sir.

Some people hate it with a vengence, not sure what they were expecting. This is all about the japanese folk at Capcom making a shooter for the Western market that doesn't tread on any Epic/iD/Valve toes because they're newbs in that area. I think they did a fine job.

I can think of other attempts by japanese folk to make shooters that didn't work out so well, Dirge of C comes to mind.

If 360 had more games like that, I'd like it a lot more. I could see Lost Planet ending up my 360 game of the year, sadly.
