Sony Spain expects to sell in 1 day, more than xbox 360 in a year.

Por otro lado, Sony España considera que el mismo día de la salida de la consola ya habrán superado el número de Xbox 360 vendidas en el territorio nacional, el próximo 23 de marzo.


Thay expect to sell 700.000 PS3 in 2007 in Spain, and more than xbox 360 since it was launched all along in the launch day, 23 March.




I Think it is a bit big this numbers, maybe they include the actress ''elsa pataky'' in the 60gb PS3 pack... if not...

We have PS3 at 600€=788 USD $ in Spain.

Well, there's a freakin' huge PlayStation fan base in Spain. PlayStation is a synonym of videogaming here, and so it is on many other countries, but probably more so here. I really don't believe that they'll outsell 360's total sales in a single day, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if, by the end of the year, PS3's installed base is larger than 360's. Hopefully, this will at least mean that the launch day allocation will be good.

I don't know what Xbox sales figures are like in Spain, but they're surely anything but spectacular. Let's just say that there always are PS2 and/or PSP games and systems among the top 10 sales lists I see around, and I never, ever saw Xbox or Xbox 360 games or systems on #1, as Sony, Nintendo or PC always have that spot. Many places sell PlayStation systems exclusively. I've seen surveys on online shops where people voted that they'd rather wait until March to get their PS3 or buy a Wii instead of buying a 360 for last Xmas (the least voted option).

I definately expect PS3 to become the most important new system here this generation, no doubt about it.

by Xmas 2007 their will be little douhbt to who is still #1 and still kicking ass in the video game industry.

Here in France that is about the same :
MS sold very few XBOX360 here (Video game = Playstation for us). I really think that the PS3 will reach the XBOX pretty soon after launch, depending on 2 things :
- how Sony will provide PS3
- when will they drop price to 400€ (at launch it will be 600€ which is very expensive for a console).

on a similar topic, is it really strange to see such predictions or results from a Sony brand world wide especially in such markets? the competition just doesn't have the recognition their as Sony has and their Playstation brand. some don't even know X2 or Rev exist. some thought X2 was PS3 when it launched.

Im not sure how accurate or feasable the statement could be (I have no idea what sales numbers are or are predetermined to be in Spain). Although it may turn out to be that Europe is a haven for the PS3 as it has always had a very solid and loyal fanbase there and they seem to remain so. This could be a gen when we see different consoles leading in different regions when the dust has settled.

Europe is the PS3's market to gain a solid foundation. If they're gonna do that anywhere, it's gonna be Europe. Europe 2007 and 2008 for Sony is going to be mighty important. They need it to flourish and have that spill over into helping to get stronger in NA than they are right now.

The Euro release is what I expect for a Sony Console release. And the US and Jap releases would be equal in terms of sales and preorders if don't have the supply issues and lack of games.

And there's simply too many exclusives PS3 games for them not to dominate at least the Europe and Japanese market when compared to 360. We are jumping the gun here off of 1 month's sales. Halo is MS biggest gun this year along with Mass Effect and BioShock, and NONE of these games will have huge sales in Japan. PS3 and Wii software are much more varied IMO. I expect Wii on top for a while, while PS3 and 360 dogfight for second. Then it'll simply be a 3 piece for Sony to the top- "Boom Bop BaNG!"
