I've seen PS3 adverts on football matches in the last few months. But I'd expect the first PS3 TV adverts to start airing in a few days.

there is that SixAxis European commercial with the guys balancing on their bikes. I saw it on YouTube. I presume it aired.

There is no way those This Is Living Promos will be seen on TV.

The usual advert time is 30secs, max 1min (costs you a lot more) and those promo videos are way above that.

Sony has to do a special PS3 launch show to air those.
They did it for PS2. I remember watching it where they were showing how they made GT and had lots of devs talking about how great the PS2 is so let's hope they do the same for PS3.

This is not the start of the campaign by the way. PS already sponsors UEFA so instead of putting PS2 or PSP banners, Sony decided to put PS3 banners. It's a start for sure but I wouldn't call it a campaign.

They will probably campaign way later then now and probably after launch too so people can go and get it when they see the adverts instead of waiting in which time the excitement might wear off.

We might see some teasers on TV before launch though but again it's too early even for those.

I don't usually watch football, but I saw a few seconds of a match in the news and there it was: the PS3 logo behind the goal, just where the PS2 and PSP logos used to be.

Don't forget in the UEFA Champions League, Sony is co-sponsor. And now what you get is on the XBOX 360 game of the champions league, they get ads for the PS3 behind the goal too.

Here SCE Australia's Michael Ephraim's message about the marketing campaigns:

At the moment retailers are in the pre-sale mode, if you go into any gaming, IT retailer or consumer electronics dealer, you will see a very big presence of the PS3. That’s the advertising we’re doing at retail so far in Australia. We also do have ‘The Stories’ online – about HD online, real time AI and more that consumer can watch. But above the line, with media etc – it will be the whole shebang, and will happen on launch from March 23. We have a fabulous promotion that you can’t miss with [Austalian National Airline] Qantas – they are giving away 200 PS3s – but the big media spend will happen after launch.

However i've seen no commercials.

Even so, some news is picking up on the ps3. Mainly to do with blu-ray and how the ps3 will pick up sales. blah blah blah. But some publicity, and it aint negative.
