I love list!
1. Radiohead
The first music I ever really loved.
2. Boards Of Canada
Absolutely beautiful and nostagic music.
3. Daedelus
Extraordinarilly imaginative and wonderful.
4. Amon Tobin
Some of the most gargantuan music I've ever heard.
5. cLOUDDEAD
A surreal avant-hop dream.
A shame they are over.
6. Beck
Is there anything Beck cannot do?
7. Ra
Not the band 'Ra'.
The french grunge-electro musician, graphic artist and filmmaker 'Ra'.
My enjoyment parralels his creation.
8. Cornelius
Another all-around artist.
Beautifully joyus music and music videos.
9. Fantomas
One of the most interesting and superb bands I know.
From short bursts of avant-metal to a film soundtrack covers album to a soundtrack for a non-existant horror film to more shorts bursts of experimental-metal.
10. Bjork
Bjork has an amazingly emotive and untamed (at times) voice.
Her album 'Medulla' is breathtaking.
(No pun intended.)
(Well maybe just a little.)
(It is only a little pun anyway.)

I agree. I agree that you love lists, and I agree that Björk is amazing.
I don't think I can make a top ten list, so I'll go the lazy rout.

In no particular order:
1. Rage Against the Machine
-----RATM and Nirvana were my first "real" bands that I ever got into, and Rage always provides me with some good energy when I need it. ZDLR will always be more pissed off than I.
2. Beck
-----See: Boggy
3. Bjork
-----See: Boggy. Also, "Possibly Maybe" makes me get really emotional.
4. Gorillaz
-----Showed me that everything Damon Albarn does is musical gold. It also showed me that he can cover any realm of music and make it amazing, be it rock, rap, hip-hop, punk, and even dub.
5. Drive Like Jehu
-----Post-Hardcore and Math Rock entrepeneurs. They were the first of their kind and completely engulf the modern ideas of the Post-Hardcore movement ("You aren't and it isn't and nobody's listening/And nobody gives a fuck what you go do with your life.") But, then again, maybe I'm giving them too much credit.
6. Le Tigre
-----I love female vocals, and Le Tigre was the first all-female (I guess) band that I ever got into. It's a shame they disbanded before I got to see them live.
7. Radiohead
-----Genius at it's finest.
8. The Beatles
-----My dad brought me up listening to the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, The Who, David Bowie, The Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, and other music of that idea, so I had to include one of those bands in my top ten...I still listen to all of them but the Rolling Stones, but I think I appreciate The Beatles the most.
9. Sigur Ros
-----Euphoric sounds from Iceland. I went to one of their concerts last year and it was one of the greatest and most relaxing experiences of my life.
10. Jaco Pastorious
-----He's the reason I started up at the bass. The end.
Honorable Mentions (or bands that I want to be on my top ten but aren't because that would violate the number ten):
The White Stripes, Any of the classic bands I mentioned earlier, Amon Tobin, Cornelius, Kid Koala, Daft Punk, Basically any Elephant Six band (Of Montreal, Neutral Milk Hotel, etc.), any DFA Band (LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, The Rapture, Black Dice, etc.), Death From Above 1979 (didn't make the top ten because they only had one and a half albums before they broke up), Gruvis Malt, The Sneaker Pimps (circa Kelli Dayton), Phish, Daft Punk, !!!, The Pixies, Fatboy Slim, Blackalicious, Doesy.

Well I've never seen him perform live, but I like his records. They're nice and mellow, although he does have his songs like "E-Pro".
For the record, most modern artists are balls live, but I'll reserve my judgement of Beck until I actually see a show of his.

De La Soul and The Fugees/Lauryn Hill are definitely on there. A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop Dogg (in the 90's), and Run DMC are there too.
I also forgot Aerosmith now that I think about it. Before they went all ballad-y, the were a solid band.

I'm digging The Black Keys, in the case of new bands, right now. Sloppy, lo-fi, blues/riff rock for the 21st century. The guy sings like a white version of a blues legend, and fingerpicks all the solos. They're a guitar/drum duo, but their sound is pretty solid.

Elliott Smith. Love. What else can I say?
Mr. Bungle. Disco Volante is one of the best albums I've ever heard.
Radiohead. First five seconds of Kid A might just be the best first five seconds of any album in existence.
Clint Mansell. Particularly his soundtracks to Darren Aronofsky's films. The Fountain soundtrack.. wow. Dude. Wow.
Tin Hat Trio, The Stares, Miasma & The Carousel of Headless Horses, Neurosis, Isis.
