A 9.0. Sweet :) I just bought it but I am waiting for the Casino Royale HD trailer to finish downloading first :download: Always makes me feel better when I buy a game that is getting good reviews.

I dunno, I have to be honest, I am not loving the game :( Just to be honest.

The biggest thing for me is the lack of intensity and excitement. It's very rarely that I'm creeping up from 3rd to second and at the edge of my seat. Usually I'm in first, or I'm 12th. I also very rarely encounter someone else on the course, and when I do, we're never getting into spectacular crashes or trying to force eachother off the road.

The game is gorgeous, but the gameplay is lacking. Gonna go try and find some multiplayer and see what happens.

Then you obviously aren't playing it right, because I just finished a series of games with some of the other psinext crew that were everything you said it is lacking and then some. Intense doesn't even begin to describe it.

Yea, I'm obviously playing the game wrong. You've got it bud. That makes a ton of sense.

That was a pretty good review. It definitely gave a different take on how to approach Motorstorm and how to appreciate all of the intricacies of its visuals and gameplay.

I love playing this game. Went online for the first time tonight. Only had time for one race but it was fun. One criticism I have of online is match making sucks along with finding friends. Unforgivable if you ask me. I want to find my friends and I want to race against them. I shouldn't have to look through a list of names on a server for their name and then look through games running on the server to find them in game. Love the single player, think I'm going to enjoy playing online with total strangers.

Siraris, are you playing offline or online?

The only thing I've heard is that the offline is not nearly as competitive as the online because the AI, even if it's good, it doesn't match up to people still.

That's all I've heard though, just hearsay.

IT'S THE ONLY PLAUSIBLE EXPLANATION! :XD:

This is where Home comes into play. A central launch pad for ALL PS3 multiplayer games.

@Siraris, I wasn't being serious, but I cannot see how someone would think those things about this particular game. It's the exact opposite of what you said that makes me love this game so much.

I shouldn't have to wait for 6 months for home. I should be able to find my fellow PSIs in game in 15 seconds or less. Anything less is just unacceptable.

Then sell the game, and buy it again in 6 months.

In 6 months I'll be playing something else. Like I said, I'll enjoy the single player and playing online. The short comming is so obvious that it makes me think that something is coming in the new firmaware which will allow us to drop to xmb and voice chat from in game.

It's actually already been announced I do believe. It's the "multitasking" everyone's been talking about. Home will only improve on it.

good review frosty +rep!

decent scores all up, i would have said exactly the same thing, it doesn't deserve more then a 9 but that's not a bad thing.

OMG, you 9.0'd it.

Most of you may not get the joke.

Btw. Congratulations on the 100 rep points, Viper! :thumbr:

Lol, I hadn't noticed that, thanks.

The joke is in reference to Nintendo fans being pissed at IGN for giving Mario Kart on GC a 7.9 which was a very low score compared with other reviews and expectations. Hence the term 7.9'd or any other numerical score that is deemed lower than expected. The knock is that some fans may feel a 9.0 is too low for the game.

I think it's perfect. After all, Motorstorm does lack in a few things. Like more maps, better online, non-2D plants, etc. Not much, but just enough to keep it from deserving a 10.

Shouldn't that be 8.9'd?

Looks like IGN has my same philosophy when it comes to the online mode. Props to them for seeing that.

then there’s the brilliantly simple but infinitely enjoyable online mode to get stuck into

This review really helped to restore some of my faith in them. They didn't try to take it's simplicity and rip it a new one for having it. They realize that simple = good in some cases, such as this one.

Oh, it's the IGN UK rating. Fair enough.

Either that or he's bad ass, and stays at the head of the pack, or really sucks and falls behind.

for the game to have deserved 10 it would need to have far more modes, tracks, cars and a better online system.

I love this game but why the hell do we have to choose the launguage every time we start it up. Also, a question was asked about the shadows and if they would still flicker like they did in the demo, they dev said they had fixed the issue, yet it's still noticable. Regardless of those 2 things and few others already mentioned this game isnt anything to be ashamed about. Oh, nice review.
