1UP.com conducted a interview with Phil Harrison, and apprently he talks about rumble in this. *grabs popcorn*

* Phil has just confirmed that Playstation HOME has been long time in the making.
* 1UP is nervous, people, this is once in a lifetime chance to see 1UP being nervous.
* Apparently Home has been in development for a couple of years now.
* Was originally a concept meant for PS2 online
* Phil acknoledges that HOME is qually as important to the developer and player, implying the expandability of HOME.
* He's "Pleased with the reaction so far" (Phil) No Sh*t. lol
* Denies "Mii too" approach with a smirk, I like his style.
* HOME is a open structure where devs are encouraged to create temples and shrines for their own games. A new way of sharing info, news, demoes etc. I'd say.
* Talking about integrating HOME characters and using them in game, but technical challenges are still being worked out. Mii too CONFIRMED!!
* Thinking of enabling game specific avatars (not just humanoids) in HOME, but haven't decided whether that'll be public or just be in your private space yet. Again with the smirk.
* Promises easy matchmaking service directly in HOME
* Will return to lobby without being separated form friends
* O_O, MONUMENTAL LBP FOOTAGE SHOWN!!! YAYYYYYYYY

Yea, normally I wouldn't mind and wouldn't even care to comment on how someone chooses to write something; but, entries like "Phil Harrison called out on rumble, confirmed" are very misleading.

I, myself, knew that didn't mean rumble was confirmed. But, what about the people who hadn't seen the interview yet?

So, I have to agree with you there. The summary almost demeans the interview (and it's a good one).

Yeah, the summary could definitely be better.

1Up *was* a bunch of idiots during that interview, wondering why Sony hadn't mentioned it sooner for instance (never start a business guys), but that summary I think goes too far - like with the 'shrines and temples' thing.

But, at least it gets some core thoughts across.

It is 1up, what else should we expect from them now? They're business model is just very different. I don't like it either.

I understand how and what they are trying to accomplish with it by getting mad hits by fanning the flames, but it's like they're trying to find a way and keep the gaming world static.

They seem to have grown accustomed to internet goers craving for 'bad' news about the PS3, and I would bet that they are having a hard time adjusting to something that may come in the future, where there's more good news to announce than bad.

They got hits with ripping the PS3 apart, but at this particular point in time, they probably are wondering what to do. Very unprofessional and maladaptive.

xb raised one great point in another thread. Sony never actually went away, they were always working on something for the PS3, and not only that, but they were still successfully moving and producing for the PS2. They never did go away. As venomv said on the lines of "I don't remember getting the memo that Sony ever went away."

Unless you want to take miniscule and almost utterly meaningless cross sections of time.

Yea, the children are eating this up on Digg. It's THE top story. How fucking sad. Furthermore, after 1396 diggs and 119 comments, no one seems to know that Reggie was also in attendance at Phi's keynote.......scowling and whatnot.

And notice where it kind of says '1up is nervous.' Watching that video interview, it showed. They were suprised, caught off guard. Who are they gonna to rape to get all the hits now? They've lost a big revenue source since GDC for at least quite a long time.

They would need to rebrand it though, to make it apparent that there is a "new" feature. They need to seperate it from the first Sixaxis. I'd wait on brainstorming brand names until we're sure what type of force feedback Immersion would be providing.

They should just keep it called sixaxis. That's the cool new feature that needs stressing. Rumble is last generation's tech, just because they're going back and putting it in shouldn't change anything. They should just have a couple commercials or whatever saying, 'shock is back, ps3 sixaxis now with next gen rumble technology.' it's a sixaxis controller that has vibration tech (this is all hypothetical), not a dual shock that, oh by the way, has motion sensing.

I've got it. The perfect commercial to introduce the new controller.

It open in the typical white room. There are 6 axes in the air. On the far wall is a clip of Warhawk. On the floor is water as if melding with the game water on the horizon. The axes move in sync with the plane and as its shot down the axes fall into the still water. A couple of seconds go by and in the white room water and Warhawk water the water starts to regurgitate and we hear that classic rumble whirl. It then just focus primarily on the water. The water starts to drain and when finished all we have let is the new controller i the middle of the room.

I liked the rumbling at the end, good time placement.
