The previously rumored approach from Sony that would be similar to Xbox Live's achievement system... its since been shot down and i gues.. nothing is heard of it anymore.

scedev.net/home/Third%20Party%20Relations%20Q%26A.pdf

that is a document for third parties that have questions about the recently announced service, Home.

On Page 8, there is a question about the DRM (digital rights management) of items purchased in HOme.. and the answer says it wil be "based on the entitlements system which will be offered by the PSN"

Is this simply referring to tehh system of purchasing things like. Games from the Playstation store ( and being able to redownload it 5 times using the same account i think, for example)? or is it something else?

No one really knows at this point. My hope is that 3rd parties will spend the extra 10min and not be lazy to put this in their games like phil said. Sony is being very generous to developers by not forcing them to do it like Microsoft does, yet half the internet still hates on them for not being dicatators. They cant win for losing

the name 'entitlements' was a rumor given by some sites as the equivilant of Live's achievemants system. like Sony would just mimic such a system without any intervention.
in the Home announcements they said you can view the 'trophies' you win in games. in all cases, these are all names of certain things you do and scores you get. call them what you may, it's only a name for the same thing.
