This is not a troll thread, but Spiderman 1 and 2 in my opinion were nothing special.

Poor acting, poor special effects (beyond obviously fake, I mean, I know its not real but step up the quality, spiderman looks like he jumped out of a CGI movie from a playstation game when he is swinging around)

The only redeeming quality about the third movie is venom, and even then they cast a 5 foot whatever inch chump instead of a 6 foot 8 monster.

I honestly think its the most over rated super hero movie of all time.

I thought the movies were good, personally the only reason I freak over the fact that 3 is coming out is because Spider-Man kicks ass.

As far as Venom, Topher Grace is like 5'10" and Eddie Brock was like 6'3", plus they clearly casted him based on the Ultimate Spider-Man Brock and not the Amazing Spider-Man Brock.

Batman Begins is my favorite superhero movie.

Batman's not a superhero...is he?

I didn't think either of the Spiderman films were that great, but the newspaper boss guy always has the best lines.

Now X-Men 3, there's a shitty movie.

I don't know. People have low standards or something.
Spiderman movies are rubbish.

Spiderman is one of the coolest superheros around. I doubt theres anyone who actually has anything against him, and so his movies are popular.

The first was pretty crappy. Its tolerable, but there was soo much cheesy love crap. The second was a great leap forward. Sure the acting was almost crappy (I think of the bit where peter parker was like 'punch me I bleed') but it wasnt too bad. The second ones action was way cool. The third should be a hell of alot cooler then both, so its bound to be popular.

Except as I understand it...POSSIBLE SPOILER - BUT NOTHING TOO BAD

...The cops find some 'new evidence' that shows that the sandman was actually the guy who killed ben parker. I found that to be a pretty lame way of having a reason to fight a bad guy. >_> But then I dont know if thats how it happens...

I enjoyed the films. They certainly are not my favorite superhero movies but they are fun popcorn flicks to go see with your friends. Which is the reason why I think most people see them. Anyways this is most likely the last one seeing how Tobey Maguire has hinted many times he’s done with the series.

I really, really enjoyed the movies.

I hated Batman Begins... it was plain gross to me.

Because whatever it does (action, dialogue, comedy, romance, drama etc), it does well at a level that you never get fed up (i.e: It doesn't drag on).

Spider-Man 3 in May

I enjoy the movies but they aren't my favorite ones about superheroes. I know Peter Parker being a wuss and that cheesy love crap (as thecube says) is a part of the story, but sometimes it gets on my nerves. I'm still really looking forward to Spider-Man 3.

Batman Begins was overrated, the Spiderman films are entertaining but they need Carnage in it sometime soon, i dont see why they didn't combine some films and have Fantastic Four with Spiderman, they had better storylines together in the comics, plus it was Spidey, F4 and Venom who caught Carnage

ther best comic book adaptation is The Crow

minus the 3 that followed the first

The themes are great. And the Spiderman myth has been popular since god knows when.

Oh yeah, did I mention Kirsten Dunst stars in the movies?

They are popular because many of us have roots in reading comic books.

There are a LOT of nerds on earth.
