Lol this is the third poll Ive answered, but nothing as changed except the options. COLD for me. I havent any need, use or desire for HOME so this feature is useless for myself. Im strictly interested in games that Im looking forward too.

I vote sexy! I mean, hot.
I'm quite with Voa though, I don't see myself using it too much. I'll just play around with it like I do Habbo Hotel and Yahoo Pool, and that's probably about it lol. I guess add a bit of MSN in there for the talking to people, but it wouldn't be very much like MSN in that not many of the ppl I talk to are gamers hahahah.
I just like how it looks, and I want to throw TVs down staircases. :D
The games is where it's at! I mostly an SP gamer anyways lol. Except for KZ and SOCOM, I'm gonna be gunning it up with the best of them!

I voted warm just because it isn't released yet and I haven't had a hands on. But the potential and presentation I think is excellent, and even if a hardcore gamer doesn't particularly care for it, this could be HUGE with the casual and female demographics. When looking at it how it will effect EVERY type of gamer, I can't see how this is can be anything but compelling...
Me personally, I will simply use it to make a cool character/customize a bit, and meet up with friends. The extras I don't care for.
Note: I think we should think outside of our "hardcore" gaming habits when voting. Unless this is specifically a personal poll on how you would use it?

I find it a pretty cool feature, tbh.
There is a plethora of possibilities to be done here, not "just" simple chatting and such.
And, just to say hi :D
I have been a lurker on here for quiete some time, but just recently registered and now this is my first post :D
I am a Engineering Student from Stuttgart, Germany. I already had the chance to preoder my PS3 some weeks ago fortunately.

EDIT: Yeah i voted for "HOT"!
it is interesting when making such polls to make the names of the voters visible.
it is funny to read a strange new names being the only ones to vote on the complete opposite, only to find out the are members of the other sections that never post here anyways.

"I already voted on this poll!"
What the! Oh ya.... ahhaaha.
Welcome to t3h E-mpire Segitz!
I voted Warm. It sounds awesome, but I just need reassurance that it's going to be executed well. Like I said before, I'll either become extremely bored of it very fast, or, it'll become an integral part of my Gaming experience for various different reasons.
It all sounds extremely exciting and has the potential to be massive if pointed in the right direction. I mean, just think of all the possibilities.
Come on Sony, deliver!

Hot. But there are still a lot of question marks. I need to try it out to make a better judgment. But it is certainly steps in the right direction for Sony.

I'm thinking I should've put down warm though, I'm more with Fats on this than the word 'hot' would suggest. O well lol. I am very 'warming' to the idea of Home. I think that's where I would put myself as well.

Third time answering this poll, and for the third time I'll explain my vote.
So far, I'm not so interested in Home. Like the Mii thing, it seems like something I might piddle with for a little while and then never really bother with again. I found Second Life rather boring, and never cared for stuff like The Sims, so I don't expect to be too entertained by Home.
At the same time, I would sort of like to have seen Nintendo do something similar just for the folks that it would appeal to. Personally, however, I'm not too interested, but perhaps that might change if I see more of it.

Hot. I see a ton of potential and its something that sets it apart from the rest. Also being able to have an actual visual representation of achievements etc owns. On top of that, the theater and the other features like that put a new spin on content delivery which I am all for.
How cool would it be to like go to David Jaffe's office/room thing and have a q/a session with him through his avatar etc. I see a ton of potential and can't wait for it to release. I am extremely happy with Sony for this. It went way beyond what I expected and anyone that can see the potential has to be excited.
Besides, its a feature not a requirement. use it if ya like it, don't if ya don't...simple.

Hot. Why? Because Social Networking is huge. The reason Second Life is not huge is because it is populated by freaks and losers. That and it looks like the backside of a dead goat. But the idea is great. Now Sony will run with it. It wont be a reason to buy a PS3, but one reason among many. Like icing on a cake that is getting fatter by the month.

HOT. Home done right will be the most immersive and enjoyable online community for all three consoles out now. Networking with your current friends and finding new ones will be as easy as walking down a virtual street. I can already imagine how going into a game through Home with 3 friends and coming out of of it with 8 will look and play out. It's incredible how ambitious this new feature is. Got my fingers crossed for a spot on the Beta.

I already voted "Hot" a while back but I'm going to clarify as to why. I've seen Microsoft fanboys freak out over this. I've seen people who were pissed at Sony rejoice over this. I've seen so much positive feedback over this one feature I can't help but think this is going to be the next big thing for online play and consoles. They need to get that multiplayer feature working ASAP damnit..otherwise it'll look really bad. Kinda like the launch..

HOT again because I plan on making a Killzone themed apartment with a room for the clan that will be very dark. I'll also have a long table where clan members will site in order of rank. Hopefully, they'll all be wearing a Helghast skin if it happens to be provided by Sony/GG for download. There will also be a foreboding military theme playing the background as we plan out strategies for clan matches. THAT'S why Home is hot.

Ive said it before, and Ill say it again. Home is hot. I love the idea, and sony is knocking it out of the park with this one. I cant wait to see where they go with this. I hate to say it if your a ps3 owner and dont like home, I've got a feeling your not going to have a choice but to use it. I really hope they incorporate this heavily into the ps3 experience. Make it seem like your not just buying a piece of hardware, but entering a whole community you are always connected to. I can see this being the future UI of the ps3 possibly replacing the XMB... maybe.

Hot - While it's not the thing I'm most looking forward to regarding PS3, I still feel it will provide an excellent experience to the user.

Warm. I'm not interested in the minigames (bowling, etc), having a Mii-like avatar, or sharing media with others, but the whole apartment/clan meeting place thing sounds great. I seem to game at different times than many folks, so having a place where people can go straight into a game from a meeting room might increase the frequency that I play with people from the forum...

Correct me if i am wrong, but you will be able to join games normally without having to go through home. If you just want to get into a game quickly.

Gotcha though.

Really, man, are so many people acting like Nintendo invented this idea? They did NOT. This Home idea, and the Mii idea, have both been done is the PC venue for a few years now. Nintendo and Sony both are chipping other companies ideas. Ninty is doing it kiddy and carttoony. And Sony again is going for the crowd that wants a more realistic approach to it. But this not new, at all. Second Life, hello? There? Ring any bells? Sony is just going to do it better than any one else, that is all....
That's my point. For those that want to just play games they'll have little interest in HOME.
While this is true, Sony has obviously seen the effect Second Life has had and they are ripping them off whole sale, but using it in a diffrent way. It is a tactic to get more "Non-Gamers" into the PS3 fold and to stay there. If they are doing Home they are on a PS3.
I really see it as Sony's attempt to build a more robust social network based around the PS3 instead of the PC. It may just work if it is good enough.

What everybody doesn't seem to understand is that this basically "completes the circle" for Sony. Now they have everything: Great hardware, great software, and a soon to be great online community structure for those that want to get together for the services HOME provides. Everybody keeps going "but the people that only like to play games" as if the PS3 owners haven't been yearning for this service. I know I have. I've been "playing the games" for years now. I really would like to meet up with other people OUTSIDE of online games that I actually meet IN online games.
I like the idea that I can get to know somebody while traversing their trophy room and vice versa. This service will flourish simply because this is what a lot of PS3 gamers want. It almost completely defeats the purpose of in-game multi-player lobbies. And for people who want to chat before they get into game? Now they can do that in HOME without taking up server space by idling there. And when they're finally ready to play? BAM! They all simultaneously log into the game in a party. It's excellent. People would be crazy not to use HOME.
I honestly wouldn't have seen it working on the PS2 simply because their (Sony's) multiplayer support for that console sucked. But it's a whole different ballgame with the PSN. Now there is guaranteed to be more multiplayer games for this console because dev companies won't have to set up their own servers unless they want to. Before Home there was no community for Sony gamers to get together. Now there is. The only way this won't work is if everybody buys into all this unwarranted nonsense being spewed about the service.

hello
well i gave it warm...
i like a whole concept alot and it can be great we will see
however i don't like the sims look to it mostly i don't like characters...
i would love sony to give an option to have not so realistic humanoid avatar
i would love to be able to be running aroud home
character like those in LittleBigWorld
i would like to have not an apartament but a small hole just like some mouse
and there would be magical cakes and i could give them to people with
normal big avatar so there can shrink and get into my little 'home' :)

I voted Hot because when I played FFXI online, it was an experience like no other. Being able to walk around a virtual world with a character you created, talking to other people from all over the world is just an AWESOME feeling. I know HOME isn't exactly like FFXI or even a MMO, but it will still harness the same type of feelings I felt when playing FFXI, and for that I am very excited!

what is also interesting to note about the above figures is that the Wii owners have contributed more to this poll than the 360 owners. whether this is because they have already witnessed the possibilities of HOME through the Mii online or not is open to debate, or it could just mean that they are far less adversarial towards that PS3 than 360 owners. one things for sure, this poll shows that Sony are going to have a harder job bringing 360 onboard
