If Nintendo would wake up and realise that we are in 2003, they would still be #1.

Well they should evolve. I mean, right now the FPS are hot. They made Metroid Prime but they need something like Metal Gear and those new XBOX FPS I dunno the names. Plus, they are totally OUT when it comes to RPGs, which are a big part of the player community, I think. I mean, they don't make FPS and RPG, they think that kids will be satisfied with only a new wack-ass Mario game that is just like an upgraded version of the N64 Mario game. Then, they are totally ignoring people between 16 and 25 years old who want to play games like GTA and shit with guns, rapes and pregnant girls getting killed. For real though, Nintendo is way too much doing their shit for younger players and they are ignoring too much people to be #1 nowadays. I don't have a "new generation" console cause I don't play that much games anymore. That shit is way too expensive for me. This is what I think. I have never ever played a single GC game and I've hold a GC controller like twice but that's what I think based on popular games and new games I can see in stores and on TV.

GCN - 364,240
X - 374,261
Such a biiiiiiiiiiiiig difference. I guess online play really DOES make X-box the best coffee table ever... especially in the biggest month ever for video games, February.

I think its pretty sad, but not as sad as it seems. PS2 is just doing so well that it blows all competition away.

Source: CSFB estimates based on NPD Funworld data.
• Software sales revenue for the month of February was down 5% over last year, with console sales up 3%. New 128-bit console hardware sales were up 34% year over year, driven by a 110% increase in GameCube sales and a 47% increase in Xbox units. 128-bit console software sales were up 29%. For the month of February, Sony’s (6758, ¥4,290,Outperform, TP ¥5,500) The Getaway on the PS2 took the overall top spot followed by Take-Two’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for the PS2 and Electronic Arts’ The Sims on the PS2.
• Electronic Arts’ (ERTS, $56.48, Outperform, TP $87.50) U.S. overall sales for the first two months of the quarter were up 31% versus last year. Strength in February, up 36% year over year, came from continued strong sales from January release The Sims on the PS2, as well as catalogue sales of Madden NFL 2003 and NBA Live 2003. Based on our initial channel checks, we expect this weeks’ release MVP Baseball 2003 will drive continued strength through the end of the quarter.
• THQ’s (THQI, $12.50, Outperform, TP $16.50) U.S. sales decreased 15% year over year in the first two months of the quarter, as 30% growth in January was more than offset by a 44% decline in February. The decline can be attributed to tough comparables with the release of WWF Raw and Sonic Advance in February 2002.
• Activision’s (ATVI, $14.67, Outperform, TP $18) U.S. sales declined 31% year over year for January and February, with the weakness coming across all of the company’s products. That said, the company’s only new release this quarter, Tenchu 3, has shown up as #1 in France and #2 in the UK on PS2. Tenchu 3 was released in the U.S. earlier this week.
• For Take-Two’s (TTWO, $20.38, Outperform, TP $34) first month of the April quarter, sales were down approximately 66%, though sales were essential flat month over month. The company’s Greatest Hits titles for the PS2 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which has sold approximately 5 million units in the U.S, continue to drive the company’s sales. The company’s next major release will be Midnight Club 2 for the PS2 on April 8th.
• Midway’s (MWY, $2.95, Underperform, TP $3) U.S. sales in the quarter were up 43% year over year, with the strength by sales of Mortal Kombat.
• Electronic Arts remains our top pick, based on the strength of its management, product portfolio, and financials. At 19.5x our CY’03 estimates we believe the valuation is attractive at these levels. For small cap investors, we believe that Take-Two represents a compelling risk/reward scenario given the strength of their product pipeline and the current valuation.

Because GCN had a bundle deal, and Metroid Prime and Mario Party 4 were the ones you get for free. I thought the bundle deal was doing so hot according to Nintendo yet they can barely keep up with Xbox's numbers and they didn't even outsell Xbox hardware.

Actually they are correct. They're in order from how much money/profits that the company got. I edited out that though because it was useless information, i just kept the sales numbers not the millions/thousands that the company made in that month off that game.
