I still have GW 2 unopened begging to be played (LOL) and have a good bit of respect for the series. Excellent all around game that brought much to the genre.

Mine's still on pre-order (get paid this Friday), but I've got to get a new PS2. Old Betsy V.3 has finally gave up the ghost playing DVD9s. She's coughing and wheezing on Rogue Galaxy right now, bless her EE.

I am undecided about picking up GoWII....I loved the first one but I got bord of mashing buttons/doing the same 2 combos over.....and over...... and over....

^Really? For me it didn't feel repetative at all. You had more then enough weapons and moves at your disposal to make the game varied...i suppose you CAN use the same basic moved but that ain't the devs fault.

The PS3 that I had wasn't mine, and I had to take it back to its owner yesterday. Plus, I don't have a memory card adapter.;_;

That's essentially the same shit with every action game on the market, case in point, DMC3 Royal Guard (just-block, just-block, just-block, DT+just-release=vaporized enemies, rinse and repeat). What makes God of War 2 more fun isn't the damn combat but the simplified puzzles, platforming and the occasional grappling, it's like they're showing that idiot Iga how a Castlevania should be made in 3D.

You have to do a bit more than just SST in God of War 2, granted not a whole lot more but there's a bit more variety and the perfect-block thing is more useful this time because bosses throw projectiles at you that you can block back at them, on the other hand hades revenge can clear the whole freakin' area but now it's turned into a ground stab move instead of a wipe move in the first game. Might of Hercules ain't as cool no more.

Give it a shot. I never had an interest in the genre and I picked up the game from the pure hype it got. Once I started playing though it was a blast allthe way through and its now one of my all time favorite games.
