Got me bored in no time. :(
okay, unlike previous adds, the two This Is Living videos absolutely do not give any indication for gaming, HD movies, entertainemnt centers, networking or anything else connect not only to PS3, but to the industry as a whole.
if they didn't put a PS3 logo at the end, no body could tell what is it about. heck, nobody can even with the logo. their online commercials are extremely well done. these ones are need to be burned alive.

they were all disparate individuals brought together in one environment and oddly linked. the grenade for instance connected most of them in some way... something explosive: HOME

It's a link to Home, not gaming or movies.
At least that's how I understand it.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there I do not sleep.
I’m a thousand winds that blow,
I’m the winning vote on that talent show.
I’m the sun on ripened grain
I’m the antidepressant to keep you sane.
When you awaken in the morning hush
I’m the natural yogurt to calm your thrush.
Of quiet birds of circling flight
I’m the tit tat on your special night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there
I did not die.
WTF? I found this. Make any sense for you, guys?

LOL, was thinking the same.
Do you think the note in her shrine is a clue, treasure map? At least that's how SCE likes doing commercials.

A lot of things still needs to be unlocked :( and where do you click 3 anyway?
There’s been a lot of mixed opinion about PlayStation’s adverts in recent times, so all credit to them for pushing the boundaries with the new ‘This is Living’ campaign, which invites the audience into a multi-character drama, and is designed to be as entertaining, interactive and evolving as the product itself.
As the campaign progresses, the audience will be invited to stumble upon clues relating to the existence of the characters and the mysterious hotel – from pictures of Cherry on Flickr, to the hotel and avatars of the characters existing in Second Life, each channel of communication is designed to add another dimension to the story.
Darren Carter, Vice President Brand Marketing – SCEE goes on to tell us: “With the launch of PlayStation 3 it has been important to acknowledge that our audience’s expectations are constantly changing and we have to keep pace with that change. They no longer want to be advertised to. This campaign is not designed to be passive. It asks our consumers to get involved”.

I found a bunch of passports in one of the rooms and I remembered that when you signed in you put in a name and a birth date. I copied down the names/birth dates but it won't let me sign back in. Maybe that has something to do with it?

They just need to let people know the PS3 is out there and what better way to do it than a weird ass campaign.
"Guys have you seen that weird advert on TV?"
"what is it for?"
"PlayStation 3"
"Oh that's out, what's it like?"
And then the ball keeps on rolling ;)
This is a genius campaign.
This is not aimed for gamers or even 'softcore' gamers, this is for people who don't know that PS2 had a PS1 before it and now a new one is out.
and it is official; they went psycho.

. . . God.
Why on Earth are they continuing with these bizarre commercials?
Really effective, Sony..airing commercials of no relevance to the Playstation 3,with no Sony logo or Playstation 3 in sight.

They just need to make a commercial focusing on home, it will create more buzz then all their weird commercials combined.

There's a difference between clever and symbolic and absolutely retarded.
They've mastered one of those forms. If they're honestly expecting people to watch these commercials and be moved to inquire further, they're going to be sadly mistaken.

Lol and I thought the early PS3 commercials took the cake for weirdest, this is the new winner. I just hope they dont have a repeat advert for when the white PS3 arrives and its two women of different colours fighting...

these are the best adverts i've ever seen. they are so stylish and enigmatic. i like the whole idea of each characters story unfolding slowly and not patronising the viewer with obvious clues to whats going on. asking what they mean is ridiculous at this stage, it would be like looking at the final page of a great novel

Many people love the Hollywood versions of Ju-on and Ju-on2 and despise the more subtle, slower, refined originals.
Different strokes for different blokes. Them commercials make me smile.
