Aficionado - I thought it was funny how words like "virtuoso" and "aficionado" populated a Jimi Hendrix book I read years ago. When I thought of joining this board, I wanted an original username, yet meaningless enough so that people didn't associate anything with me, as I'd rather prefer them to focus and feel interested in the content of my posts rather than thinking what a guy with a random celebrity username has to say about whatever. The word "aficionado" tells something about my country of origin (making it understandable in many other countries as well) and at the same time it is a pretty shallow word. Exactly what I was looking for.

As for my username....the character iceman is from a game called Wing Commander. But honestly I think the name was borrowed from Top Gun. And 2654 is the year the game takes place in.

The rough translation of that name "Shinji Ikari" is Hater of a New Time. Danji Ikari, as the nickname was given to me years and years ago, apparently translates to A Hater of Dan's Time. Awfully emo if I do say so myself. The nickname is about 6 years old now so I had it before I joined PSPinsider back in the day.

I've tried newer nicknames but there are a few reasons why this one stuck. My status as a mod at PSPinsider was one reason. Another was when I was taking Japanese lessons my instructor had extreme troubles not mutilating my real name so I insisted that he call me Danji. That and I have memorized that Katakana for it and I write it better than I write my real name in English.

Now as for that Ky Kiske avatar I've had for 3 1/2 years running...hrmm..I'm thinking about what else to get but everyone has light yagami and I'm not a mod so the statement "I am Justice!" wouldn't quite work yet as a user title.

Having one in the PS3 Wii and 360 forums and we could all promote intermingling even more by posting and sharing our username stories 3 times! It's easy for everyone to get into if it's in the most common areas.

When I was EXTREMELY patriotic and when people kept picking on my "Turkish attitude", I gave myself the name "turkishatt" Att standing for- Attitude.
A bit corny.

Then I thought I ought to step up a level.
Sure being a Turk is great but 90% of the world doesn't know that so how can I get across the message of my awesome attitude?

My answer laid within my question- Awesome thus 'Awesomeatt' but then I thought "this sucks, way too cocky, I don't want to be seen as a jock."

So then I thought of a more noble way to say "I rule" and thanks to one of my favourite song "Master Of Puppets", it hit me when I was listening to it.

The song title looked so good because the word "master" looks good then I added my trademark "att" at the end and VOILÀ!

'Kay then. I got mine from my Nintendo account, "IWANNABEUNSPOKEN." I just liked the word "unspoken" a lot. However, the actual name "UNSPOKEN" was already taken, so I added on to it. I got it from the country song, "Unbroken," by Tim McGraw, back when I liked country (now it sucks :-() and didn't know all the words to it... :shifty:

As for my username, it started out back in mid-2001. For some reason, I felt the need to change my username on AOL. HyperBlueSonic just didn't sound unique enough anymore. In fact, that username was made because I was pretty psyched about Sonic Adventure 2. Anyway....
I was going through a bunch of things one night/early in the morning. I was picking out words from a number of things and combining them together to make something. I went through a few ideas, but one of them just kind of stuck with me: HybridPainKiller.
There never was a true meaning to it considering it was just 3 words combined. Many people have tried cracking jokes about it, but I stuck with it because...well, it sounded cool. When I became introduced to forums and the like, I used HybridPainKiller as a name as much as I could. Eventually, at one particular forum (Game Sprite Archives), the members there just referred to me as HPK. Originally, I never cared to be referred by it. Most of the people I knew online just called me Hybrid, which was cool with me.
Over time, HPK just kind of stuck. I was joining other forums and came across a 15 character username limit. I used HPK since it would be pretty easy to remember. I considered using HybridPK, but I've only used that on Xbox Live. HybridPainKiller wouldn't fit, and HPK is just too simple and too common.

So yeah, it's basically an acronym for nothing.

Well, when I was like 11, me and a freind of mine would wrestle (practically daily) on his trampoline, he gave himself the name Poisin, so when we would team up and wrestle some of our freinds I would be Venom (so no, it's not a Spiderman reference). And V is the first letter in my last name. I used to try to just use Venom, but it is almost always taken.

Normally I would use a snake for my avator, but as Viper already had that covered, and I have been called Viper a bunch of time for reason I can't imagine without having an avator at all, I used a spider.

My story:
About 4 or 5 years (or more?) ago, my cousins had dug out some of their old home movies. Watching them, they found that when he was around two, my oldest cousin (~2 years my senior) mispronounced my name Lucas as Gookas. We found out about this the next time we went up to visit them, and shortly after that he for some reason Germanised it into Gookanheimer. Then around 2003 when I started to get into online stuff like forums, I decided to use it as a username, since it was rather unique and had a special meaning to me.

While watching "The Screen Savers" I saw a clip of someone named DarkCloud playing CS, which I play regularly. I liked the name and picked it up. Since I had this name, people called me "Dark."
