I just do not understand.

I went to a farmers market today expecting fresh food but everything was in packages. What makes it different than a store? A traditional market should not be like this!

At least this one is less creepy than the ones back home.

Well depends on where you are. If it's in a decent sized city it's likely to be packaged but still from the local area. While in a small town say where I live, they just sort of put the produce up in a stand.

Hahaha.

My farmer's market is awesome. They have a guy who sells old video games. Sega's, Atari's, Ninty's, and more!

In my experience everything is fresh (and unpackaged), but I live in an area where tons of fruits and vegitables can be grown at some point in the year, everything I normally eat except for fruits that need a tropical environment.

There's one particular farmer's market here that has a lot of stuff packaged, but all the others don't bother with that stuff.

@Khaos: Retro games at a farmer's market? WTF?

Around here they just sort of put the food on the stands.

Haha, yep. I was surprised too. They also sell old VHS tapes and records of all sorts. And it's all uber cheap :-D

Sounds like a frigging flea market to me

I think that was what Matt was saying, just using a different phrase.

Flea markets can be great for finding cheap games, espiecally older ones.

Yea, more or less the same thing, except I think flea markets are usually indoors?

Nah there is one close to me that's a huge outdoors affair only open on the weekends.

Well I've only ever been to one when I was over there, and it was indoors, so I was just guessing.
