The ESRB is bustling with rumors today with Tron, Art of Fighting and also Eternal Sonata. Way back at Tokyo Game Show 2006 Namco Bandai announced Eternal Sonata (aka Trusty Bell: Chopin’s Dream in Japan) as an Xbox 360 title. According to the ESRB it looks like Eternal Sonata is coming out for the Playstation 3 too. Thinking back to the announcement, Namco Bandai never said that Eternal Sonata was an Xbox 360 exclusive, they just mentioned it was in development for the 360. There is a chance that Eternal Sonata might get a dual release 360/PS3 release, but another possibility is Eternal Sonata will be a time exclusive game on the Xbox 360 similar to Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. If Eternal Sonata really is coming out for both the PS3 and the X360 would that change your mind about buying an Xbox 360 or encourage you to purchase a Playstation 3?

yeah..also to me ...i was bitching about it been full exclusive to X360 here in the forums and even fight with mods cuz if it..i'am little disspointed now .

but maybe MS don't give Namco-Bandai alot of $$$ to full exclusive games ..or Namco know that JRPG games and Ace Combat can sell more on PS3 than X360 in Japapn ..

i hope they don't make crapy ports (EA-Ubi stuff) of these two games on PS3

OK this is for screens. I recall the title now, definetely a good addition to the PS3 and good to see some more Eastern rpgs begin to emerge.

MS is going to find that they need a complete re-introduction of their console and that titles alone will not solve the matter (in Japan).

But yeah its one of the MS Japan battle plan titles.

It will definately sell more on PS3 than on 360. It wouldn't have made sense for them to make it 360 exclusive unless Microsoft funded it completely.

Personally though, I don't care about this title.

Lol, they already did a 're-launch' of sorts. It got a boost but nothing that would allow it to compete with the others.

I do want to point something out though, PS3 sold only 11k units last week in japan. The X360 has been known to sell for 17k for several weeks with a good title out. Obviously the PS3 will win out but the X360 may give it a run for its money a few times.

The PS3 game drought has a lot to do with the low sales figures lately. The price of course doesn't help, but it's not the only reason. It's not like once PS3 gets a more or less steady supply of games it will still struggle to sell decently.

well this is cool. i think. i don't really think that its a big deal anyways. no one has really been following this title really. so....but either way. i don't think that this title will sway the choice anymore in the way of either console now that its on the ps3 also.

personally i just think that games that are multi-platform just make the 360 look better. lower price. same games. (just opinion. but i don't believe that the motion controller of the ps3 is that big of a deal)

no..it's from "tri-Crescendo" (former Tri-Ace guys/team ) they made Baten Kaitos , Baten Kaitos Origins on Gamecube..they are good dudes...

but there are like sister studio to Tri-Ace , if you if you check to their site you will see all Tri-Ace games listed like Valkyrie Profile and Radiata Stories .

You know, not everyone buy a console just for multiplatform games. Since I will own a PS3 (and I am a Final Fantasy whore) it is great to hear that this game will come to the PS3 too, otherwise I will just skip it.

Every game holds it's weight and stuff in the big picture.

But honestly this is quite miniscule. This is like another fringe JRPG, when... well the PS3 is going to have no shortage of that for Japan where these games succeed.

And even if the PS3 has scarce fringe JRPGs... those same RPG players buy FF XIII anyways. This is about as meaningless as you can get, but I'm not saying it's nothing of course.

RE4 sold 450k in Japan with an installed base of 22 million. RE5 will be lucky to hit that and even if it drives a few thousand console sales, it's release date is December 31, 2008 in Japan (likely just a fill in date and not final) and by then at the current sales rates the Wii will have over 5 million just at the end of the year and PS3 should have 2.1 million. I don't think RE5 will do much for them. The RE series is much bigger in the US and Europe than in Japan now.

That's been part of ratings for a very long time. The ESRB always puts out the most explicit or violent material, which is the right thing to do. Like in GTA SA there is alcohol use, but they'll put drug use or extreme violence and gore instead because those are more explicit.

True, forgot about that.I just think that "Alcohol" is a stupid thing to rate FF XII by, it's not like they're all drunk, and I didn't notice any alcoholics walking around Ivalice.

You don't put a "Use of alcohol" notice on every Hollywood movie, right? How are games any different? In Shenmue, you see many drunkards walking around at night, though. ;)

I do agree with you, though, this is really pointless especially when bear commercials are pretty much on every American television station; and they're even more accessible to children. How? 1. Everyone has cable and 2. games cost $60 or more. You're not going to see kids picking up a game just because it features a character who could drink. O_o'

First, "Eternal Sonata" has been removed from the ESRB list (I don't know if I did something wrong or not, but I cannot find it.)

Second, if you search for "Tales of Symphonia", the platform lists is Gamecube, Windows PC, Playstation 2, Xbox. (not my found, credit goes to ps3-net http://www.ps3-fan.net/2007/04/ps3_96.html)

it looks great to me. if i had a 360, this would definitely be a must purchase
