Multiplatform PC and X360. Now it's come to the PS3 too, so it is progress. Commence hysterics.
From the announcement: "Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for the PlayStation 3 system will allow all next-generation gamers to savor the cinematic action and high-definition visuals of the game," said Darren Barnett, Development Director, Eidos Interactive. "Kane & Lynch sets a new standard for mature games and we're pleased to be extending the experience to the PlayStation 3 system consumers as well as Xbox 360 and PC gamers."

well we've had the PS3 version in our system at EB for a long time, and we even had display boxes for it, and I remember somebody said it was going to PS3 a long time ago, but nobody publicizes these things as well as PS3 games going to 360

ok ..ok ...ok...so Eidos Interactive is full of shit ..
why they talk bad about PS3 two weeks ago ( that they will not make anything for it ? and tiny winy userbase and crap ?)
Eidos Interactive Ltd is part of SCi Entertainment , IO Interactive ( kane developer ) is owned by Eidos ...and now one of Eidos's biggest games for this year is for PS3 ..
they even will Publish Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PS3 in Eu ..
Eidos is full of shit

Exactly. This is not going to be any R&C or Uncharted. This is just 'another action game in the library' and nothing more.
Every bit helps, but this is another of what is going to be a pile of many, many games that can be described as just 'another game.'
Not to rain on Liquid's parade though lol! Which is good he came and said that, because it supports the notion that every bit does indeed help.

Read again. They said no major or flagship titles or franchises this year, and all the major stuff is due for next year. Would you put these down as flagship titles?

This has nothing to do with Sony waking up.
It's not like they went to Eidos and said
"omg guys, dont leave us out please!!!!!!!"
And then Eidos said:
"Aw, okay..."
Eidos probably thought PS3 [sales] was going to suck when this game was first announced (before PS3 launch) but now that PS3 got 3+Million sales, they see it as a good investment.
Still be cautious though, this is after all a X360 --> PS3 game and if Lair's developers are anything to go by, those are tough as shit to port.

Wow. Entirely getting the wrong point out of it. The point was that neither game is all that big a deal compared to what they may release come *next* year, which is when they said they'd actually have major releases bound for the PS3.

I don't know what their progress is like, but assuming they've done even a little bit of work to spread work across cores, they won't be in too bad of shape to start unless they did something really specialized.

Well if IO follow their own development philosophy it shouldn't be a big issue. :)

just two week ago they said they want make anything for PS3 this year till userbase get bigger ..now ..PS3 get biggest game from them this year.
We will have some PS3 products over the coming months, but we’re holding back our major top line products until this time next year."
^ they have nothin this year , Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is the biggest game for them this year ..and Tomb Raider Anniversary is not for any next gen system..
to me ..it seems they just want to talk dirty about PS3 ..
It's not like they went to Eidos and said

^ ....sony is getting desperate from all 3rd party leaving them left and right..they may do that ...to secure some games ..
and they just get a JRPG game from namco (it was exclusive for X360 )...there is something going on for sure ..

I was just wondred about Eidos's latest comments on PS3 when they said there will be no big games from them to PS3 this year and now they put the most important game from them this year on PS3 ..it seems something made them changed their decision ( green papers maybe )

I was hoping for a multi-platform version awhile back since the description of the gameplay seemed rather good. This is definitely great news for me. I'll be keeping my eye out for this one.

Ummmm... just out of curiosity, what makes you think that the "most important game they had due for this year" as you put it, is necessarily a big game for them among all the games they've plotted out? I mean, I could theoretically be working at a place that has a Halo-killer planned for next year, but the biggest title on the horizon for this year is some "Barbie [insert glorified natural phenomenon] Princess [insert beautified mythical creature] Adventures" game. That doesn't make the Barbie title an important project. I exaggerate a bit with the example, but I'm hoping you get the point?
Moreover, I believe it was also said that the game is being moved out further for just that reason, or am I thinking of something else? If so, then even if it is a major title, it now has a probability of not coming out this year.
You're just being way too quick to make emotion-based judgments. Things never happen as simply as you think, and "wanting to badmouth a platform" is not the basis of official company press releases and never will be. Companies are a few thousand times more professional than that even if certain individuals never are.
IO is Eidos's best dev, this game is gonna be brilliant. The Hitman games have some of the most intelligent level design and gameplay executuion ive seen in most games. So many ways to go about killing your mark, its brilliant, its what freedom is all about in games in my opinion.
I think when they spoke about releasing their big games they meant next gen Hitman and next gen Lara because Kayne and Lynch is still unproven therefore not a big hitter yet.

Ummmm... .
..?? all that for my tiny post ?? you cared about me :evillaugh
what makes you think that the "most important game they had due for this year"
if you know what in Eidos pocket make a thread it will be huge..but for now Kane is the most important game from Eidos this year ... I see nothing other than this game , maybe they have some super duper big games to show in next games expo ..I don't know the future like you ..so for me Kane and Lynch is the only thing for next-gen from them that also big ...it's simple
and ..it's one of three
1- they lie
2- sony made them changed their decision
3- they are full of shit

Kane and Lynch might be the biggest game out for this year, but in the grand scheme of things it's quite minor. Hitman is a big game and franchise (not that big, but certainly bigger than Kane). Tomb Raider is also a bigger title that Kane. Kane and Lynch not so much, or has to prove so, even if it has similarities to Hitman.

@Nova - I don't know much either. I haven't read much or seen much. From what I do know though, it looks like Hitman but with two guys instead of one, and one of the screens has a ton of people in a club. That's about as popular as this game is with me lol XD
