Meh, which company is better because I want a new PC and I'm getting sick of Dell's stupid obsoleteness every five seconds. My uncle, who's an engineer, reccomended Gateway... what do you think?

Gateway. I have had both, and I like Gateway MUCH better. They have better reliability, and are cheaper than Dells.

In short, Gateway >>>>>> Dell.

Thanks. Gun, building your own costs a lot of money.

I forgot to mention that I'm the poorest of the poor and I need a very cheap but powerful computer.

I like this one so far, ...

What do you guys think of that one? I need something cheaper though, but I like those specs.

^ Gunpei, it actually depends on what deals you can get. If you can build a computer for 900$, and you can order the same thing for 900$, but it includes tech support/ hardware repair, the better deal is with the large company.

Ixion: Frankly, I hate Gateway. I would rather thier computers, along with thier new toy "E-machines", to be used primarily as boat anchors for the U.S. northern fleet instead of computing.

In reguards to the model you showed me, you have selected a computer with intergrated video named "Intel Extream Graphics 2". The only thing extream about this type of graphics processing is average 2 frames a second it puts out for any 3d game you play. Again I would reccomend two companies.

www.Abspc.com ( ABS Computer group -I reccomend)

-and-

www.IBUYPOWER.com

( Very low cost, high performance PCs. They usually make apperances in my collection of computer magazines ever month. I have heard good things about them, but never a live testimonal. I will reccomend them, but make sure when you go to select the parts, make sure there is an operating system selected. Some of the machines ship without an OS unless you say so. I have heard they decent tech support as well, above the likes of Dell and Gateway. )

Take a look around both sites and see if anything catches your eye.
