I like AJFA.

But, I am a huge Metallica Fanboy, and they have yet to put out a CD I don't love.

All of them are good (Minus St. Anger) but the Black Album is my favorite.

St. Anger = horrible. Load and Reload = bad, but not as bad as St. Anger

The rest = 1337

The best = black cover

ugh, the black album is horrible, i dont know why people like it. Saint Anger, Load and Reload are absolute garbage. And Justice for All is alright, but the production value went way down on that album, and thats the album where they started to tone everything down. In Justice for All is the newest metallica album I can stand, everything after that is just bad.

...And Justice For All is probally my favourite. Everything after that is really shit, especially St. Anger. I have no idea why people bum off it so much.

Only because you are 15 and dont know any better!! Metal poser that you are.

I stopped listening to Metallica when the Black album came out. I dont mind change, and I am not afraid of it, but they went in a direction that I wasnt prepared to follow.

Why dont you have the album Garage Days Re revisited? That was prime Metallica!! Best album in my book. I still own the tape to this day, along with all the old albums.

I remember when Metallica's slogan was, "Metal up your ass!!"

Now its more along the lines of, "Flowers up your ass!" (Or in Lar's case, big hairy cocks!)

Poor Cliff Burton must be rolling in his grave because of what Metallica has become.

Another point, kinda following on from CC's insult. St. Anger is like the n00b Metallica album. People, well, the n00bs were like, "omg this is the shiznit, I loooooooooooove metallica!!1!!1". And they say this when all they have heard is like St. Anger and Frantic on MTV.

Ride The Lightning. It was a close call between that and MoP but I find myself listening to RTL more. The guitar riff on the song Ride The Lightning at about 2:35 has to be one of my favorite riffs now. Anyone who says St Anger is the best shouldn't even label themselves as a Metallica fan.

Why wouldn't favorite also count for best? Isn't something being "the best" also count as what that person conceives at "the best" album based on opinion which is generally the same thing as calling something a favorite.

Im sorry but if anyone says that the newer music that Metallica makes is better then the old they really have no clue as to what Metallica was all about. I listen to everything except Country and Rap, but even I know crap when I hear it. Every band changes. Mega Deth, Slayer, Pantara, Death Angel, Ministry, and Sepultura (just to name a few) all went through a change, but none like Metallica. Ive been to every concert of theirs when they played in Vancouver, and even a few of the smaller venues in the states, way before they made it big. Yes have seen shows when they still played in bars. A few years ago they played at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver and it was the worst show I had ever been to. James couldnt even sing "Seek And Destroy" and had to pass the buck over to Jason. I was so ashamed to call myself a fan from that day on. Then a few months later they came out with the "Black" album. Well I couldnt believe just how far gone they were. If you talk to older fans, much like me, you will hear us say, "Oh Metallica will put out another "REAL" heavy metal album again.", but alas, this is never going to happen. They are old and washed up. The music now is boring at best, with none of the fast paced grind that used to be in every song they did. Yes this is just my opinion. One I will die with. But it sickens me to the bone when I hear new albums being called better then the old. Its wrong, dead wrong. When you goto heaven may Cliff go easy on your soul!

Metallica is highly overrated.
Their only good album is AJFA.
The rest of their stuff is mediocre at best... and their new stuff is simply horrible.

And yes, VU is infinitely better than Metallica.

Ride the Lightning is my favorite Metallica album. So many classics on that album, first they start it off with Fight Fire With Fire, which is a savage song, then it goes into Ride The Lightning, with some of the coolest riffs ever. Fuck, then you hit For Whom The Bell Tolls, one of Metallica's best. Fade to Black, an awesome epic song with some great fingerpicking. Trapped Under Ice and Escape are the weakest points in the album, but are still some cool songs, but then you have Creeping Death, which is another of Metallica's best. That short bit during the middle, "Die, by my hand," I still get chills at that part. Then it closes off with my favorite instrumental by Metallica Call Of Ktulu, which shows off some of Cliff's great songwriting and bass skills, and may be my favorite album closer of all time.

You have to be kidding me. Along with the Rolling Stones the Beatles wre one of the first real bands, as in it wasn't one performer with a backup band, the band was identified as a whole. Second Beatlemania was a absolute phenomenon, that was topped with the Beatles holding the top 5 spots on the billboard top 100. That in itself is a feat that has never been even close to replicated and I think will never happen again. Then with the change in music during the late 60's from a rock and roll style to a more experimental psychedelic sound, and The Beatles were at the head of that too. They broke barriers in sound recording technology and how instruments were played. They pioneered the use of the sitar, backwards masking, heavy distortion, and more. Then there's the music, which is phenomenal. They arguably created the concept of a concept album with the release of Sgt. Pepper's. There is even more to The Beatles greatness, but I think you get the point.

Pretty close. They each have some really great stand out songs too.

'One' being my favorite.
