Its just so people are not constantly changing their name. I would get pissed off if people on my friends list constantly changed their name. It actually matters on the 360 as well considering their are achievement points which most people won't want to leave behind.

You can ask your superiors such as Dwhitten, Mach, or Omega to change your username from WC, to simply wounding.

I changed my account because the win. Live ID my account was linked to was an invalid email and I couldnt remember the password. After quite a hassle with passport.net and xbox live support I finally just decided to change the Live ID and the account so I could use future (Live anywhere, msn messenger etc).
