Favorite Series of All time?

It's pretty hard for me to choose between Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Final Fantasy. But, I have to go with the Mario series. With the exception of Sunshine (still a good game, but not up to Mario standards) every game is a classic. Easy for anyone to pick up and play but hard to master (special world and getting all 120 stars come to mind)

I can't say that I agree on the poll selections. Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy are really and truly "series of all time", as they have stood the test of time with countless titles spanning the past couple of decades. But next to these people want to put short-lived stuff like Halo, and while I like Halo (got Halo 3 pre-ordered, of course) it's one of those things that is popular in recent years but simply won't be around for its twentieth anniversary.

Rainbow Six hasn't even hit the decade mark yet although it has seen several series installments, Ghost Recon has barely passed half a decade, and Splinter Cell has just barely reached the half-decade mark, and it's very likely that none of these will still be producing games another ten or fifteen years down the road. So many game franchises come along and are popular for several years and then reach a point that nobody gives a crap anymore. After twenty years we still see new Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy, and Metal Gear games coming along and may very well continue to when their thirtieth anniversaries roll around, so these and others excluded from the poll (like Castlevania) are the real series of all time.

What about the Resident Evil series, it improved on RE 4 but the others, well let's just say the camera angles were not friendly, but besides that, it was a interesting series, it may not be as good as Mario and Zelda series, but it was a killer a while ago, I guess it deserves some type of attention.

It is easily more than 10 games...

EDIT: Sonic Adventure 2 also had one of the best video game soundtracks ever too :P...

Of the ones in the poll, I'd have to say Zelda. It might have been Final Fantasy if I could ignore a few of them.

Depending on how Super Smash Bros. Brawl turns out, the SSB series may become my favorite.

Man, all the tom clancy games could've been combined, they are good but we don't need a separate option for each. There are also some real Socom nuts out there...and Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter...so many choices is why I decided not to make a thread like this.
