Anyone Get banned from Playstation.com forums?

I did, first I thought it was becuase of my first and only post. Which was not negative or at least that was not the intention.

So I sent an email and ask what was up? And they said it was because of my name Pootie-Tang. Why would they let me create it if it was inappropriate? Secondly, why wouldnt they just ask me to change it, if they thought it was bad?

As a recent PS3 purchaser, I feel violated! after shelling out $750. Thank god for this forum.

I'm sure mods here won't mind and this place is the best for PS3 discussions, we discuss EVERYTHING PS3 related here (some things that you won't even care to discuss lol) so I'm sure you'll get everything you need here.

Also my advise is for you to click USER CP (top left) and go on options and chose "Show 100 posts per page" otherwise you might be put off by threads going on for 50+ pages.

Other than RFOM, there really isnt any next gen titles on the PS3 that couldnt have been acheived on the PS2.

Well, to be honest, you may have not said anything really wrong.

But also you would have to understand that such an idea of 'the only next gen thing the PS3 has is RFOM' is not a new idea. It's an idea run into the ground by people that might not have the same lighthearted intentions of you.

So was it necessary to start a topic again on it? People with less light hearted intentions often use such a topic to demean other people's enjoyment of the forums over there and the PS3 over there.

Think of it from the mods' side. They've seen things that look very similar cause a lot of ruckus.

Try looking at it from a different point of view. And secondly, try conveying your idea in a less provocative manner, no need to make a new thread about it, but you can say it in posts in other threads.

The fact of the matter is 'other people' do sometimes do it to piss people off. You're job would be to let people know you don't mean to annoy people, but that's really how you feel and you'd have to try and be more sincere about the whole thing.

Thirdly, the name Pootie Tang. People know what it means. Now what you would have to understand is that young people not only read the forums but participate on them too. So you would be having to respect their presence. Do you talk about a subject like the meaning of Pootie Tang in front of young children, say, 9 or 10 years old? I don't think so, or you are very inconsiderate.

Now if you want to stay here, you'd have to let us know that you don't mean to annoy us, but that's just how you feel, and since you let us know that I think, you are welcome to stay here! :)

I hope you're not being serious. You do realise there are many younger people who read the boards as well.

There are some standards of 'normalcy' that have to be set when the area is 'public' meaning anyone is welcome regardless of age.

Usually when you register, most forums have specific words or phrases that they block from even being registered.

If your name didn't fall into any of those categories, I don't see why they have the authority to ban you or anyone else. Oh well. Welcome.

I think you did something more than you're saying. PS mods are the best in business, they're very friendly and they warn you if you do something not right.
