PS3 to relaunch?

This is my first post, long time reader first time poster. I just bought a PS3 last week in anticipation of some great games coming out and I have been loyal fan since PS1 and I couldnt see myself without a PS3.

Here is my point, the PS3 has been out since November and with the release of expected titles I feel like the PS3 is gearing up for a re-launch. Other than RFOM, there really isnt any next gen titles on the PS3 that couldnt have been acheived on the PS2. That said, we are heading for a re-birth, titles that would have been released with the launch if Sony didnt have to rush due to market pressure are on their way.

For those who bought PS3's early, consider yourselve's public Beta testers, now buckle up because not even Sony can tell you how deep the rabbit hole goes, but it is gearing up to be a fun ride!

not so much a relaunch, but a real launch software wise. Besides Resistance and MotorStorm as far as disc based games there aren't any other games on the system that are really good exclusives. the second half of this year should be amazing software wise. with a huge range of disc based and downloadable games.

Yes the PS3 does sort of seem to be going through a transformation. So far (IMO) there have been 2 worthy PS3 games to buy. Resistance and Motorstorm but the others are good as well just not my sort of game and I would not go as far as to say they could be acheived on the PS2.

F1 is not my type of game but it looked georgous and NOT possible on the PS2. Anyways I understand the general gist of your point and somewhat agree with you.

Gameplay wise F1 is achievable on PS2.
R: FoM and Motorstorm NOT because of the number of enemys and the physic engine stuff like Havok wich makes huge improvements in the in-game things.

Yeah... I'm looking forward to soooooo many games on ps3 it's crazy.... I won't have enough time to appreciate them..... I think (software wise) ps3 will eclipse ps2 and be shining star next to ps1!!! I also think that there allot of classic games in the making right now for ps3 and that I'll be reminiscing about them in another five to ten years time. YAY!!! :cheers:

there's no need for a relaunch. and what the hell does that mean anyway? Whether you call it a relaunch or not, PS3s have been out, and any kind of 're' anything boils down to this: A media onslaught and a crushing wave of killer content. The latter of that equation has never gone hand in hand with the other of any console launch. It's just a matter of, OH SHIT PS3 IS SWEET NOW I CAN'T HELP MYSELF. MUST BUY. There's no need to announce to anyone that they're 'starting over again', just that they're not f*cking around, like you might have thought they were.

Gameplay wise F1 is achievable on PS2.
Of course, but the graphics are impossible for PS2 to achieve.

I take gameplay as everything the game has to offer.... I don't think F1CE could fit on a DVD and even if it could I wouldn't have wanted to play it...

Exactly, Lolli hit the button. Any huge wave of awesome content, whatever, you can call anything you want.

The definition of the word is all up to you, since there is no hard and fast rule about it. Whether you want to apply it to the launch of a bunch of games or the launch of a ton of good news, it doesn't matter, the label is meaningless.

The label is meaningless, what happens is what counts.

1. show me a Motorstorm on ANY other system.

2. PS3 was not the rushed console... it was the other. PS3 came out when it was suposed to it just had the typical post launch dri spell. they all did it...
