Well, I just bought myself an electric Desert Eagle Airsoft Gun from eBay, and I'm hoping to put it to good use. A couple friends will also be getting airsoft guns, and it will be an all around good time, minus the incredible pain I'm sure I will endure.

Anyone else into one or the other of these fun activities? Any tips, suggestions, etc?

And for the next two days, here it is

Yeah me and my buddies have airsoft guns. We always have battles in underground parking lots or forests and shit. Just get some snowboard goggles and tons of ammo and you can have hours of fun.

whats the difference between an airsoft paintball gun? You said minus all the pain.

Paintballing is awesome even though I have not went for 2 years. I missed out last week. I sold my gun on ebay. It was a silver Raptor.

Airsoft uses electric, gas, or spring power, I don't know of any paintball guns that use anything but gas. Airsoft also uses BBs, but some can use paintball ammo. I think they're just plain better, less bulky and more realistic.

I still have some scars from really close fire fights w/air soft guns...loved every minute of the "wars" that we -friends and I- put on.

Goku, I bet that gun has terrible aim. You must just use it for close combat? Looks pretty real though.

I play paintball over the summer and I'm looking forward to playing over the summer.

I have a Spyder E-99 gun which is a pretty good gun.

I would have gotten the M-16 replica airsoft rifle...

But the Desert Eagle isn't too bad either ;)

Almost instant bruise. Always good to talk about with your friends years later. I know my friends and I still talk about our first few times out at paintballs and laugh about it.

If they shoot BB's, wouldn't they pierce the skin? It must be a pretty low velocity, or do you have to wear some sort of special clothing?

You for sure wear a mask that shealds the entire front of your face. Ussually thicker clothes. I have never used BB's so I don't know?

This thread makes me want to buy an airsoft gun, with some mini paintballs.

That would be sooooo damn fun.

well...we were using spring power...and i still have a few scars on my back from that. so yes they do kinda pierce the skin...but from further distances its alright.

Mine shoots plastic BBs so they do sting a lot but it's not permanent damage in MOST cases. In one battle I shot a guy in the face above his lip and it was a blood bath. And in the same round I shot a different guy in the exact same place. It was craaazay.

The M16 costs an assload. Especially electric, and I'm not getting a spring.

The Gun I bought fires 6mm .12g plastic pellets, or 6mm paintballs.

I'm gonna use both, but paintballs have the chance of screwing up your gun.

Yeah. Airsoft guns don't shoot BB's, they shoot the 6mm plastic pellets, or the mini paintballs. Sure, it stings, but it shouldn't leave a scar, unless you use metal BB's.

Jushiko

Using metal BBs will really fuck up your weapon though.

Well, it just depends on what kind of gun you have. If you have a gas blowback, like mine (Semi-Auto) it will, but if you have a spring loaded, it shouldn't. Unless you're using BB's that are to big for the gun...Trust me, it isn't good if you are. *Talking from Experience*
