Square Enix's executive Shinji Hashimoto announced that the company will have more surprises to celebration the 20th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series. Announcements will be made at E3 in July 2007, Tokyo Game Show in September, and Jump Festa in December 2007.
Could it be? The long overdue Final Fanatsy VII Remake, exclusively for the PS3?

Or FF: XIII for X360

This E3 is really having the most hype, I wasn't looking forward to it at all but bits and bobs are building up to make it the most exciting E3 yet (other than the ones where next-gen consoles are announced).

FF: VII remake on PSN? ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..................:hitit:

probably not... could be something new entirely.

And let's hope it has nothing to do with 360. Hasn't it been safely debunked already?

They [Square Enix] said they had a surprise for the Square Enix Party.

..They had n-o-t-h-i-n-g. Even for their own damn event.

Here's to hoping they can surprise us.

The surprise was FF Dissidia for PSP ("A FF game you know nothing about yet"). I guess anyone who was expecting yet another PS3 title when we have two already was going to be disappointed.

^^Ya exactly! I'm not liking this 'O we have a fantastic suprise' and then they show next to nothing.

Be an actual surprise this time for the love of god. Like Dissidia was good but we didn't get to see much, so show something really big or at least show a lot of it. I dunno lol. I guess I'm disappointed in the way VG described lol.

LOL Square Enix always disappoints at the events, it seems they just don't want to share news until they're forced to.
This party has the sole purpose to let people play FF1 and FF2 for PSP, period :(
At least I hope they have new public tralers for FFXIII and vsXIII at E3.

since this is E3 and beyond, they may actually show something about KH3- which would be a mammoth announcement (unless it is for DS/mobile).

but right now, I don't really care for anything besides 13. just show me new parts of it, monster designs, concepts, sketches, anything!

Final Fantasy Dissidia is a beat-em up game for the PSP.

..Not much of a surprise, or anything to be overly excited about.

that was still a surprise. how much excitement it should have is another topic. since they won't say or indicate how big or small it is, we can't really tell except it is something 'supposedly' new (i.e. not a port).
I don't trust the added excitement phrases the translator adds to these statements.
