I know I know, pretty much everyone's seen Motorstorm. But for what it's worth, new vid of the new track and vehicles. I guess this means it's coming today? Uh, probably not :whip:

June 13, 2007 - When it was released in March, MotorStorm cut a huge muddy path of racing carnage across the PlayStation 3. Set in the off-road tracks of a large desert festival in Monument Valley, players had access to seven vehicle types, ranging from big rigs to dirt bikes. With the only rules of the competition being that there are no rules, racers could bump and crash their way to the finish line. However, one of the largest complaints lodged against the game was the limited number of tracks that players could fly through as they tried to collect the event tickets during the game.

All of that is about to change, as Evolution Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment will be rolling out new downloadable content for MotorStorm in the next few months. The PlayStation Store will soon provide brand new game features, modes and vehicles for MotorStorm racers to take into Monument Valley. It will even unlock new festival passes, such as the Coyote Revenge VIP Pass that will give completely new tracks and races. Instead of simply telling you minor details about the upcoming content, we managed to get a video interview with Paul Hollywood from Evolution Studios, who breaks down some of the new items that you'll be able to download. Check it out below, and as soon as info on the upcoming content becomes available, we'll get it posted.

Sounds like a) not today; and b) only one new track. But I'm hoping for more.

Can someone refresh my memory on whether we have to pay for this or not.

It'll be pretty bad on Evolution's part (or Sony's part) to charge for something that only adds to a game (which I payed full price) that already feels incomplete.

You have to pay for the cars and the new track (dont know how much), the time trial mode is for free.

That reminds me that a so-called insider mentioned a couple of months ago that one of the new vehicles was going to be a school bus.

Yup, you'll pay for the new track + new vehicles.

I think I'd pay 7.99 or whatever for that.

Sorry Cliffbo, dunno.

Even the update isn't coming out today. GRUMBLE.

June 14, 2007 - Motorstorm fans will have to pull back from the starting line once again, as this anticipated 1.2 update won't be released this week. The patch was supposed to improve online play as well as lay the foundation for the new Time Attack game mode. Initially scheduled for release on June 7th, the release of 1.2 was pushed back to the 11th because of technical issues. This date then moved back to the 14th in time for the PlayStation Store's weekly update. Unfortunately, according to a Sony spokesman, as the update was being prepped for release, a significant network bug was discovered that required the company to push the update back once again.

When asked for specific details on this bug, SCEA provided the following statement: "A new issue was found on the 1.2 patch that could result in consumers not being able to establish network connection. At this time we need to continue to run tests and monitor the issues to ensure that it does not occur when the patch goes live if there is network latency. It is in the best interest of the consumer that we resolve the current problem to ensure the bug does not cause problems for future patches or updates."

We'll keep you updated on the status of the MotorStorm 1.2 update as soon as information becomes available.

In other news, the dog ate their homework.

Smokey mate, you suddenly stopped hosting your Aussie MotorStorm fests, how come? Work took all your time and enthusiasm towards this piece of online junkfest?

I recall you having hosted sessions every night for few months or so, actually I'm missing those :P
