I was joking, I think that the way it was handled was a little harsh.

The way to end the Pacific war with the fewest casualties was by using nuclear missiles. That's what I would have done, too.

I would've let the war continue for another 6 months. The Japanese Air Force and Navy would be defeated so they would be stuck on their own little island. Then you could start bombing them until they realize they were beaten and surrender.
Same thing.... that was the only option at the time. Japan was not going to give up unless extreme amounts of lives were lost.

If a country is crazy enough to have kamikazi pilots wont surrender unless theya re all dead

But all the kamikazes were dead, that was one of the main problems. Japan had a shortage of good pilots and aircraft, all their good pilots went kamikaze so they didn't have many good pilots or aircraft left. Once the US controlled the skies, the war was as good as over.

Exactly... they viewed life a completely different way than we do. They are just like the Muslim Extremists. The only way to get rid of the problem is to destroy the terrorists or in the case of WWII, most of the country. Its a sad way to do it but it must be done.

I agree that at the end of the war the Japanese were dug in to the extent that continued conventional bombing would not have been enough to conclusively win the war for the allies, but I do feel that the use of two nuclear bombs was too extreme. Most of the people killed were civilians. It's a bomb that can in no way discriminate between military and civilian casualties.
