Oh My God I am in love with this book. It's partially what got me through my first year of high school baseball. The workout was so hard and I compared it to the life of battle school and i told myself to stop being a pussy and toughen up.

Yeah, I only recommend three book series. Ender's Game is one of them, so you bet it's good.

I started reading Shadow of the hegemon, but i just could not get into it. Ender's game and Ender's shadow are the only two i really like

Seriously though, I love how Peter and Valentine Wigging pretty much take over the world by using alias's on the political nets

Yeah, though I find the concept of two prepubescent kids being this mature alittle hard to swallow, the book was definitely well written and it's kinda one of those books where you take something away that you can apply in real life.

Well, they were given a moniter and their intelligence was enhanced from their birth. The only reason ender existed was because Valentine was too soft and Peter was a bloodthirsty dick

I listened to Shadow of the Giant on CD's while driving from Indiana to CT.
I thought it was amazing. And I cried at the end when Petra is having the letter read to her.
Yes, I'm lame.

I really want to read it but never got around to it. I am not a big reader but when I get a good book I will read it in a few days. I really enjoyed the story in Advent Rising which was penned by Orson Scott Card and then wanted to read Enders Game but never got around to buying it. Maybe tommorow or something i'll go to barnes and nobles and get it.

You mean Shadow of the Hegemon, right? Haha.
One thing about the series is that it's really confusing how the books go in order. After reading them all, they kinda go like this:
Ender's Game -> Speaker for the Dead -> Xenocide -> Children of the Mind
-Then-
Ender's Shadow -> Shadow of the Hegemon -> Shadow Puppets
Ender's Shadow is Ender's Game told from the perspective of the character "Bean", who is the main character in the rest of his sequels. (Still a great book; it's not just a retelling.) The sequels to Ender's Game take place 3000 years after that book, while the sequels to Ender's Shadow continue on in the same time period.
Very confusing if you got all seven on your birthday and have no idea which to read haha.

Oh wow! I thought there was another book in the Shadow series, but the n00bs at Books-A-Million seemed to have failed me, telling me all the Ender books were the ones they had out. Looks like I have another book to read. ;-]
Yeah, Shadow of the Giant is the last book in the Shadow quartet.
I read Ender's Game in my Science Fiction class my senior year of high school. I never liked any of the books I had to read in high school except for two, Ender's Game and 1984. It felt nice to read a book and have it not feel like homework.
My teacher recommended the other books in the Ender series and the Shadow series. I finished the Ender series before going into college and I thought the sequels were pretty good. Ender's Game can hold its own as a stand alone book but I kind of like the contrast between the first book and the next three. Ender's Game was more action oriented while the other books are kind of along the lines of science fiction philosophy. Their were some pretty interesting ideas in there.
I havn't quite finished the Shadow books, though. I read through Ender's Shadow and half of Shadow of the Hegemon. They're pretty cool books, but that's because I liked Bean's character. Maybe I'll finish through those books at some point.
Oh yeah: bump.

I have only ever read the original novel, Ender's Game. Very good stuff. I'm looking forward to the movie adaptation, which is rumored to blend Ender's Game with Ender's Shadow, lending a stronger emphasis on Beam. Could be promising.

Ender's Game was a fantastic book, and Ender's shadow was also great. That's all you need to know.
