Dale Earnhardt Jr. has signed a personal services contract and endorsement deal with Sony Electronics.

"I'm a big electronics fan. I'm a big computer guy. It's products I can dig," Earnhardt told reporters Thursday will practicing for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway.

His deal with Sony is a personal services contract that gives the company use of his name, likeness and voice for promotions.

He also has a similar deal with Budweiser that will continue next year, regardless of what's on his car.

Now...as it is unclear whether he will be able to bring his number 8 to his new Hendricks team, will he sport his dad's number 3?

I still cannot believe the popularity of Nascar in NA. Im not overly big in racing but Dale's name carries a good bit of weight in the sport, a good move by Sony itself.

Does this statement have anything to do with games??

Ok we are going to Entertainment.

Earnhardt's #3 car was retired by team owner Richard Childress, who made a public pledge that the number would never again adorn the side of a black car sponsored by GM Goodwrench, the color scheme and sponsor Earnhardt had driven since 1988.

I don't think he would....but you never know.

I read this as a promotional agreement between Sony and Dale Jr.

Its related to games because they can paint his car in PS3 colors. Sony needs all the advertising it can get....and this is a PERFECT way to do it.

If you think putting an ad in the baseball stadium was the end...you have no idea.

Earnhardt is ridiculously popular to the point it's annoying. When his father died it seemed most of his fanbase shifted to his son. Good move for sSny though I doubt they paid enough to get it as the main sponsor on his car especially with him being established with Budweiser. But a lot of commercials still would probably help their sales figures.
