My school is literally less than three minutes away from the military base in Maryland. The only problem is that if an emergency does happen we won't get out of school because our school is not located behind the military gate :(

How's your school handeling it?

My school hasn't done shit. We weren't even allowed to talk about the 9-11 attacks after they happened. Boo' shit. We don't do shit about stuff that matters.

People at my school are hyped up as if this is some kind of entertaining joke. More sad than anything else.

It hasn't affected us at all at my school. The only difference would be at the beginning of every socials class we have a 15 or 20min discussion.

Now thats some bull shit. Not talking about 9-11? What do they think? Just ignoring the fact that thousands of innocent Americans lost their lives will make the problem go away? Its better to talk about it than just forget about it.

remember how they took the towers out of posters and delayed moves that were coming out that had the WTC in them?

Ya, I think immediatley is ok to take it out of the media but in the long term we need a reminder. If I owned a television channel after every show I would put up a picture of the twin towers with the message "have you forgotten"?

Also, delaying movies is ok because some people were deeply tramatized by the attacks. But not talking about it in school is just shit and the administration at that school should be ashamed.

A lotta trips to NY and FL and stuff have been cancelled, but nothing major... I'm a few minutes from Dulles Airport, but I'm pretty optimistic...

At my college we've had an anti-war protest, an anti-anti-war protest, and a peace vigil. My Theories of Communication class had a panel of faculty members who participated in a discussion of the way the war's been reported.
