Velvet is droppin' a new album on us this Saturday (in Australia at least). Anyone else fuckin' markin' out for this shit?

My friend picked up this EP they released in Australia and the UK to promote it. Their sound has definitely changed, though not too much. You can certainly tell Brendan O'Brien (Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Audioslave) produced it though.

Anyone else awaiting this?

Im anticipating the release, but with mixed feelings. Heard the new single, She Builds Machines or something like that. It was good. Their last album, i dunno. Maybe im just too big of a STP fan to enjoy a few decent songs mixed with crappy songs. Though, STP wasn't at its prime when they broke up either. Maybe Weiland is losing his touch.

I can't wait to hear it. I would say I'm a decent Velvet Revolver fan, but only because it's the closest to Guns n' Roses I will ever get.

I personally enjoyed Contraband more than any of STP's stuff, though I don't think any songs top Trippin' On A Hole.

Until Guns 'N Roses was brought, I had confused Velvet Revolver with Velvet Underground.

Yeah, I freak out when I see what I think is a new VR album and then see it's in the VU section...

After having a brief listen, it's not as good as Contraband, though it's slowly growing on me...
