God this is so amazing! (http://www.blu-ray.sony-europe.com/player/player.php?lang=en) the music, the style, everything. and it has been shot using blue light. Sony is just...wow with their style.http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/shmookins/emos/notagain2.gif

PS. can anyone please tell me what is the name of that musical piece? I would kill to get a clean version of that.

PPS. check out the making of.. and there is also a screen saver you can download. :)

Cool, i liked that, yeah the music is pretty cool but i don't know who it's by or what it is called. That must have been fairly expensive to produce, especially the car part.

Super-artistic.

I enjoyed it mainly because they picked the PERFECT blue.
The absolute shade of blue that is my favourite.

Good advert over-all, not as amazing it could have been perhaps
But very good none-the-less.

Amongst the stagnant slew of advertising mediocrity, this is a refreshing reassurance that passionate artists still exist, albeit obscured from the shortsighted eye of the public.

My favorite bit was the drums.
After that, the cars seemed... a little annoying.

Also,
"Entertainment like.no.other"?
Hardly.
It's like DVD.

And an aside:
...and it has been shot using blue light.
If they knew what they were doing, they'd have shot using green light, and changed it to blue in post.

Point taken, but if you had a 3meter high screen i can assure you wouldn't think that ;)

I've seen interlaced standard definition footage shot on lower-end MiniDV cameras, digitally projected* onto a cinema screen at least three meters high, and I can assure you, it didn't look bad.
It could've looked a lot better, sure, but my point is that images are not entertainment in and of themselves.
Content is entertainment.
(Of course, you have already aknowledged this point.)

Let's face it, there are very few new films these days that are visually interesting anyway, and many of those that are often owe it to special effects and CGI, which the higher resolution will depict the flaws in to a greater extent.

Falling short is easy when the standards are high.

But I digressed after my initial point.

*I don't know if they were projecting from DVD or a MiniDV tape or what, so my argument is hanging out the window.

it would look a lot better if it was 1080p ;)

but i agree, 99 percent of movies these days suck, it's all the same, chick flicks or good vs bad etc etc etc. LAME.

the music could be original. I also liked how the creators said a lot of competition are using BD and thus making commercials for it, but they are Sony and they wasn't to make an advert that will immediately stand out and be known that this one is a Sony offering. I think they drove home that one. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/shmookins/emos/goodjob.gif

PS. anyone knows how to download it? my UnPlug add-on that I use to save flash and stream videos don't work for that site. I need to save it to wow a lot of people with that. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa188/shmookins/emos/notagain2.gif

I'm guessing a million or two at the very least.

8Mil at least.

Umm, can we find out?
What's the point of guessing if we can't find out ¬_¬

Its seems like it was done by the people responsible for the Bravia tv commercials, it even uses the tag line "Like No Other".

Just to let you know, that's Sony's global slogan :p
Every Sony advert has that.

I like these ads, it shows they have put the effort in to the ad itself, they end up being quite enjoyable and not "BUY NOW BUY NOW!!!!". When i see an annoying or poorly done ad i write myself a mental note never to buy a product from that company, if i see an ad that impresses me visually i consider it almost fair that i buy a product from that company :)

Saying that, BD is too expensive for me ATM LOL!

Good advert. I'm sure the music composition is an original score for the advert itself though.

I'm just as impressed with the streaming quality of the clip itself.

I love this commercial. This way its produced is something I like. The blue lights really add something.

Sweet commercial for sure. And now my laptop is rocking a nice blu-ray background...

Not regarding the commercial, but Blu-Ray itself...
It seems strange that so much attention is given to the format rather than the content.
Then again, there is supposedly a "format war", so maybe not.

Garfunkel

yeah, good point, i guess they don't care, if the format wins, consumers will buy using the format so i guess there is method to that madness.

they stole my 300 piece drum kit while I was at the super market.

I've considered advertisement as a career choice.
Sony adds scare me. Imagine messing something up. There's no take 2
