Although this is PC discussion, there isn't a Mac section - that I see.

However, I'm sure -or somewhat sure- that someone here has some more experience w/Mac's than I do.

I am thinking of getting a mac for college. -mostly because i don't want my laptop gettin swiped....again, and because i like Mac better.

However, with all the time i've spent w/Macs i never used a word processor. It never occured to me to look for one.

Does anyone know of a word processor for mac?

Thanks in advance!

-Ryan

Appleworks, Microsoft word....

EDIT:Appleworks(as of version 6) is a suite, like Microsoft Office, but you can't get them separatly

Appleworks (http://www.apple.com/appleworks/)
Microsoft Office (http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=office2004)

Microsoft Office pretty much owns word processing on mac and windows. appleworks, comes with all consumer grade(ibook, imac, emac) macs for free. but it is not ver good, imo. also open office is a decent free alternative.

I use Microsoft Office (MS Word). It's the best word processing program on both Mac and PC imo.

I think there is even a deal going on right now that if you buy Office X you'll get the upgrade to Office 2004 for free when it ships.
