Controlling router activity

Anyways, I noticed the whenever my sister uses the internet, mine slows down drastically. This is very frustrating as I know she is only using messenger programs, not even really browsing the internet, while I play online games (Don't laugh). I am wired directly to the Router (Which is connected to the modem), while she uses it through a wireless receiver. Is there any way for me to control how much of the connection she uses? She would never notice.

I'm not going to completely hog it, I just want to tone it down so that I have some consistency with my gaming.

I have never had a problem like that with the computers in my house? I am surprised that there is a difference. Have you contacted linksys? They may have something about it there?

Hmm that sounds strange. Maybe you need a firmware upgrade to the router? It may not be working well since one connection is hardwired and the other is wireless so a new firmware might fix that.
