Oh, heavens no. We are comparing people to people, not the madhouse and...err...whatever it is composed of. Just know that if you apply hydrogen peroxide to sample of it, it bubbles vigorously.

well todays a real quite day in these parts, went to bed, woke up, no posts, about 4 posts made by people who are not me so far today. And then there are the days when we have tons of activity here, it's like a box of chocolates, you don't know what you're gonna get!

Its usually coconut, or maple...Or some other flavor that should be stricken from the boxes before retail.

Thats why you buy the turtle boxes; chocolate, pecan, caramel...No "Wild berry", or "bitter, waxy cherry and creme".

Or a big boxes of BSOD, kernels shivering in the corner, the huddled and partially networked masses yearning to be virus free. The crashed refuse at tech support's door. Send these, the hopeless, technically-tost to us.
We emit our monitor glow upon the forum floor.

O.......k.....

*slowly walks backwards towards open window*

The hilarious thing that will hurt this place badly I think is that most of the general "help me! my computer won't worky good" people are shifting to vista as they don't see that it's not much of an improvement. Yet us peeps who tend to help those with their problems...well...hate vista! In my eyes and most other tech heads' eyes, windows 2000 was maybe the only decently stable and secure OS from Microsoft, but since it's support is draining we have mostly moved to xp (sure a drunken half baby step in the wrong direction but we were forced to). But now many of us are resisting going to vista and it will be a long time before even the minority of us do.

So now we have all the helpless computer illiterate fools (if you will, DON'T THROW THAT THESAURUS AT ME!!! It's true, most users are illiterate) using vista, and all us techs know what a hassle vista can be. Yet we can't help as we refuse to use vista.

Of course this only applies to the windows side of things, but as it tends to have more problems then the alternatives i just wanted to point it out. (yay! now i'm sounding like a GNU/Linux fanboy!, but windows does have more problems).

I guess also, the restrictiveness of vista too is backfiring on MS and contributing to this trend, one of the reasons us techs don't "upgrade"/downgrade? is because we have so darn many issues ourselves running it with out own needs in mind. I know i've had my problems, I have installed vista a few times yet it refuses for no particular reason to play nice with any other OS's i have on any other partition (except for XP, oh how convenient :queer: ) Unsolvable, it forces me to kill the fucking thing and restore my partition table with a competitors' OS tools! FUN FUN FUN!

So maybe the monopolistic behavior of Microsoft will be it's undoing? I seriously am thinking it will. We saw what happened with IE when Firefox liberated us, now history might just repeat for something much larger then a few-thousand-line-o'-code-web-browser.

The M4 Motorway is the key piece of transport infrastructure in Western Sydney. It is an urban expressway of 40kms, connecting Concord with Penrith. There are 16 major interchanges along the route, including a connection to the Westlink M7 at Eastern Creek.

The M4 provides uninterrupted travel at variable expressway speeds and bypasses 60 sets of traffic lights. It services the transport needs of over 100,000 commuters, local residents and businesses each day, as Sydney's western gateway.

Statewide Roads operates and maintains 2 sections of the Motorway, a 2.5km section between Silverwater Road and James Ruse Drive at Auburn, and a 10km section between May's Hill and Prospect. The RTA operates the remainder of the M4.

The toll plaza at Auburn accepts cash and electronic tags. There are two non-stop electronic tag lanes in each direction.

OK, so now that i've finished going off onto multiple intertwined and numerously discombobulated tangents, i shall wrap up my post that is totally full of crap and has no relation whatsoever to the thread title, your posts or anything in particular. Thanks for reading!

Gee Garf, Bill Gates piss in your Cheerios this morning?

J/K

Only 2 weeks, give or take, until the balance of order is restored. Only to have the Sports section reclaim it's lead when football season starts.

Well we must get a leg-up now, we WILL catch up, now that vista-problem season is in! hehehe

And no, he didn't piss in my cereal, that was just one of my very-frequent very-violent nerd outbursts. :)

Now that you guys say "Bill Gates." It reminds me, do you guys know what happened to him? He lost his 'The Richest Man" title. I was truly sad.

No he didn't, he has an estimated worth of 56 Billion while the nearest Warren Buffet has 52 billion.

He did.

The man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Slim_Hel%C3%BA) that surpassed Bill Gates.
