Ok, so it's a temporary victory, but the Copyright Royalties Board is completely OUT OF THE EQUATION. SoundExchange and webcasters have FINALLY opened the dorrs for real discussion to fair and sane royalty rates. Small webcasters will stay open when the rates go into effect Monday, but still are subject to the rate plan. SoundExchange said they will NOT begin shutting down services if the rates are not paid on Monday.
This is great news for the Internet Radio community, and I think everyone here knows how active I was in this fight. THANK YOU for supporting this cause, people, because every call or email you made really did have an impact on this monumental overturn.
