Sources are telling us that Ted Turner is considering a return to the professional wrestling business, which was what put his TBS network on the map 25 years ago.

When he signed documents that merged AOL with Time Warner, he agreed that his decision making power would be lost. He also agreed that he would never compete against AOL Time Warner in the wrestling industry. Sources say that this agreement will end in March of 2005.

In March of 2001, Brad Siegel and Jamie Kellner cancelled WCW programming, thus driving a steak into the heart of the company that led to its demise. The company was then sold to WWE, who then “injected it with a lethal dose of poison”, for lack of a better term. With the WCW acquisition, also came a five-year no-compete clause between AOL Time Warner and WWE, which expires in March of 2006.

Ted Turner is rumored as already laying down the groundwork for the promotion. We have been told that he has been sending out feelers to Steve Austin and Bill Goldberg asking if they would like to be involved in the project. If everything indeed goes forward, Goldberg and Austin would be the two main attractions, much like Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in WCW during the mid 1990s.

Thats what we need, some friendly competition.

Who knows, maybe it will turn out to be good and that along with NWA-TNA can give WWE a run for its money and force it to get good writing again to keep up with its competitors

Hell yeah....
Go ol' Ted....WCW resurrected to battle WWE's sorry excuse for wrestling one last time.

This means Sting will most likely begin wrestling again if Turner actually pulls through and does this.

No, it doesn't, but Flair also sucks ass and should've retired eight years ago.

Hehehe it is happening again! Austin, Goldberg! Familiar to what WCW did with Hogan, Macho Man, Nash, Hall. The buying of WWF/WWE talent.

You think Ted will create an entire new thing or maybe just buy NWA TNA?

Bullsh*t, Flair is still an incredibly good wrestler and in phenominal shape considering his age.

So What if Sting will be in his mid-40's i thought he was older than that right now anyways, as long as hes in shape and can still get the job done and entertain the crowd. (Unlike Piper who could entertain and was still and OK wrestler, but man, he had cottage cheese for legs and a beer belly)

Uhh....no. Flair is still great on the mic, but he just can NOT keep up with anyone. That's why he's almost always put in tag matches.
