Just wanted to make sure you all saw this article about Halo 3 rumors:

Basically, somebody on a forum posted what they said was an article from an upcoming gaming magazine. The article says that the only reason Bungie says they're not working on Halo 3 right now is because they're not calling it Halo 3. The article discusses the plausibility of that rumor.

yeah, I did read about that, but I think Bungie said that it was a just a rumor, and since there is only that one source, and it is just some kid, I am going to have to think that it isn't true aswell.

Thank God they are making Halo 3 though am I right? the possibility is, they are making Halo 3 and they are making another game. I mean Bungie may be a "small developer" but they have the power of Microsoft a multi-billion (trillion?) dollar company to help them out along the way. To abandon Halo 3, is to abandon roughly 10 million possible Xbox 360 users at the least. Get ready though in a few days--those rumors will be put to rest. :)

Heck, I don't even have a 360, and I'm stoked about the possibility of Halo 3 news at E3. I can't bring myself to think of it as inevitable - it'd be too sad if they didn't say anything if I thought of it that way.

Well, since they announced Halo 3 today and released a trailer, I'm going to go ahead and call the former rumor "not bogus." They have to have been working on it for a while now in order to even have a trailer at this point. If only I had Xbox Live so I could see it... :(

Yep - since my last post, it came out on the web, and I agree. It's awesome. Looks like the kind of game that would make you want to go back and play the first two in the series if you hadn't already.

As some one who loves Halo: CE and hates Halo 2, I'm cautious about Halo 3. I was one of the first people to get Halo 2 and I was greatly dissapointed with the game. I need to see gamplay footage. Trailers are what got me for Halo 2. Lets hope its more like Halo: CE than Halo 2.

Well some other interesting info I found out about the Halo 3 trailer is, is that they could have made the actual multiplayer of the game playable had they wanted to.

Probably it would work, but would be buggy, or isn't balanced, or would include things they won't end up including in the final game, or would not include things that they will end up with in the final game... There are lots of reasons why they would choose not to show something even if it's playable.
