I've been waiting for this to come out so I could watch it... but I don't think I'll buy it. I'm just hoping to rent it. Maybe I'll try to finish the game and then watch it. I was only on disc 1, though, so that may take a while. A long while.

Never played FF7, but I thought it was amazing... I'll hopefully be picking this up soon although I heard that the extra features were highly disappointing.

Yeah I've been waiting for this movie since 2003 when it was first announced...so yeah...I woke up and ran to Best Buy to get it when it came out. I saw it in Japanese back in September when it came out for Japan, but it's about 10x as good in English for very obvious reasons. There's some pretty cool previews on the second disc for the Compilation of FF7...which Before Crisis and Dirge of Cerberus look kind of lame...but Crisis Core (which I think is an anime DVD) looks pretty damn sweet.

Dirge of Cerberus looks crazy and so does Crisis Core. The movie is pretty good, and I think even if you aren't a fan of the Final Fantasy series you can enjoy the animation and the action sequences. I honestly don't like some of the voice acting in the Americna version, but they stay pretty faithful to it, and in fact can end up sounding a lot like the Japanese originals. If I had to rate the DVD overall I would give it a 9/10.

I played the original Final Fantasy 7, I even got a T-Shirt with Cloud on the back of it.

This game was the foundation for many games of today. It may not have great graphics, but it was never about that. In the Final Fantasy games it was about storyline, and thats something that has never failed or come short. To this day, I would put Final Fantasy X, XI up against Final Fantasy III. For its great storyline and 16 characters to play all with a wide assortment of skills and magics.

Final Fantasy 7 was hard for me to play. It has been to this day, the only game in the series that one of the main characters was killed. To this day, I still cannot pick up the game and play it, for the tragedy of Cloud and his comrades, has also been my tragedy as well.

I started FF7 a while back, but have never finished it. Aside from FFTA, the Kingdom Hearts games (if you count them), and the little bit of FFT that I played, FF7 is the only one I've played. (I had an Xbox for a long time before I got any Playstation generation.) But don't worry - anyone who's a gamer knows who gets killed in FF7.
