OK - I just got God of War last night, and had to ask if anybody else here has played it. It's the kind of game my dad would have taken out and snapped in half if he saw some of what happens in it, and it's so fun that I would have been really upset when he did. I don't know about you all, but my dad always just happens to come into the room when the one bad word/scene in a movie is on. Then, of course, the classic line - "What are you watching?"
"Nothing..."

Anyway, has anyone else here played it? Did it shock you when they showed digital boobies? Because I knew they were in the game, but it still shocked me when they showed up.

I've had the game since launch, and my brother "misplaced" it, he found it, and we're playing through the game again. Its such a great game....That is the only scene with boobies, trust me. My bro and I beat the game, and its more about kratos past/greek mythology/kratos family. I think the game is more about history than anything, an re-enachment of the greek times.

It still is a great game, regardless of the "history class" the game presents.

Well, I ran into sort of a hologram of the Oracle last night, and she was just wearing a sort of see-through veil over hers - you could see them very clearly. Also, of the monsters, at least Medusa is topless and has boobies.

I didn't mean to say that it bugged me really bad or anything. They have boobies in R-rated movies, so it doesn't seem unreasonable to me that they'd have some in an M-rated game. It's just that very few games have them, and usually everybody makes a huge deal out of it. This time, no one did, even though they were pretty much in your face. I guess that since no one made a big deal out of them, I figured they were maybe not so obvious... but now I'm guessing that people make a bigger deal out of it if they aren't so obvious. They didn't try to hide it at all - the rating label says (among other stuff) "Nudity" and "Sexual Themes." However, they also didn't try to market the game around it, like BMX XXX. From what I understand, that game had just about the same amount of nudity as God of War (not much), but the company promoted the heck out of it.

We've kind of talked about the whole "sex in video games" thing before, but if anyone wants to weigh in, feel free. Why do you all think that a bigger deal is made of nakedness and sex in some games than others? I mean, I didn't hear anyone on Capital Hill up in arms over Rumble Roses or DoA Beach Volleyball, either.

(Oh, and thanks for no spoilers, man - I am trying to avoid ruining the plot twists for myself on this one.)

I didn't release much spoilers, they're not even spoilers. Its more complicated than what I said.

As for boobies, I don't see the transparent woman with boobs, counts, IMO, because it's umm...like, transparent! :P

Anyhow, there's not much nudity in the game as its made out to be.

I was being serious - you didn't give any spoilers, and I was saying thanks for not giving any. :)

I don't have a ps2, so I don't have god of war, but I really would like to play it because I've heard that it is a good game.
