Hello,

I'm new here, but not new to the videogame industry. I've been interested in video(console) and computer games for many years now. I've played from Final Fantasy II on the Snes to Oblivion on the XBOX 360. I'm pretty much a Rpg person, with a touch of Halo on the side. I like just about all rpg's, but I don't play nor own any that have a direct violation against God.

I have most of the popular consoles: nes, snes, n64, gamecube, gba; sega 16bit, sega cd, sega dreamcast, sega cdx; sony playstation 1 and 2, sony psp; xbox and xbox 360; with all sorts of games, mostly rpg, some racing, like burnout 3 takedown, and burnout revenge; some dynasty warriors and other various titles.

I play Utopia on the computer(strategy). Some guild wars, dungeon siege as well.

I'm into some Japanese anime as well. Vandread, Bubblegum Crisis 2040, Akira, The Venus Wars, Iria and others.

Anyway, its nice to meet everyone. If you wish to know more, just give me a holler.

Welcome to the forums! Things aren't super-active around here right now, so we're always happy to see a fresh face. I'm a long-time gamer myself, and I must say that you've got quite an impressive console collection going on there. I don't have an SNES, a Sega CD or CDX, but I do have an Atari 2600 and a Nintendo Virtual Boy...

I'm an RPG fan, and I know at least some of the others who come here are as well, although I find myself playing mostly handheld games these days because I travel a lot. Burnout is probably my favorite series of games at the moment, so congrats on having good taste! ;)

I'm interested in anime, but not knowledgable, since I almost never watch any. However, I know that at least one other person on the site is into anime far more than I am.

I have to ask - what do you mean by RPGs "that have a direct violation against God?" Do you mean a game where you actually attack God in the game or at least fight for the forces of evil rather than good?

Welcome! Let me be the second to say you've got an impressive collection of hardware!

I tend to enjoy the RPGs I actually get to play. Baten Kaitos for the 'Cube's probably my favourite and I'm highly anticipating the sequel (prequel?) due the 25th. Aside from big-name titles like MArio, Zelda, etc or mutliplayers like Halo and Smash Bros, I don't have much time to play games apart from the odd RTS skirmish - I've really been getting into AOEIII and Zero Hour lately.

Grand Theft Auto is always a good choice :)

Kidding of course. ;)

I'm an occasional RPG fan, too. Xenogears takes high regard in my book. Atelier Iris series is getting a lot of praise from gamers, I love the first one, I need money to get the chance to play the second one.

Welcome to the forums. Enjoy your stay, I'd like to say this before making my exit, ignore the dust, as we are planning a new version. XE3 is coming, and it will hit you when you least expect it. ;)

Hello again,

Its nice to be in a place where gaming is really appreciated. I too have Baiten Kaitos on the Gamecube, but if you want a really Great Rpg on the Gamecube, you should get Skies of Arcadia "Legends", it was rated Gold; another is "Mystic Heroes", not really an Rpg, but its really fun, no less; also, Tales of Symphonia.

I also currently have Atelier Iris and Xenogears; Xenogears is one of my games that I actually completed. I am still currently playing Atelier Iris.

What I meant about against God: Anygame, anime, that has the main character that is a Demon or a Devil, or has any relation to Satan. Games like: "Devil May Cry".

I have failed in this in the past with this resolution, but I'm only human. I'm not perfect, I know, with all the games that I have it is really hard, not to have these in it. Its really hard to explain. I hope my explaination makes some sense.

There is a game on Playstation, called "Brigadine", it was the last game that my grandmother ever bought me, before she passed away, it is a strategy Rpg, and is really fun to play, I liked it so much, that I even emailed "ATLUS" to see if they would make a sequel, but they never answered me; too bad, I think with all the technology in videogames these days, they could really enhance it.

Anyway, if you wish to know of any other games that I have, I'd be happy to tell you. I've got to go now, I just came home from work, and I've got a bad back. Its been fun, hope to hear from you soon.

PS: If you get Oblivion, I also have the book, I only use it though when I really get stuck, because I like to figure things out for myself.

Ah, so Diablo night be OK because you are a good guy fighting against demons? I have to ask because Diablo II is probably my all-time favorite game.

I haven't tried Brigandine, but I have tried Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Someone told me that the FFTA storyline stinks, especially compared to FFT, but overall I liked the gameplay of FFTA better. Not to say FFT is bad - it's just that I played FFTA first, and it was made second. Anyway, you might want to check those games out.

Yeah, I've been searching for Skies of Arcadia... It's one of those ones that's really tough to find like Beyond good and Evil, Second Sight, and Eternal Darkness. Really annoying that I can't find them. I tried ToS and couldn't really get into it, but I'll have to look out for Mystic Heroes - thanks for the recommendation :)

Have you played any of the PSP RPGs? I really enjoyed X-Men Legends 2. I rented Legend of Heroes and Untold Legends a while back, and they were pretty decent, too, although not outstanding. I got the chance to buy Untold Legends for really cheap today, so I'll finally go back and finish it now.

I've been playing Monster Hunter for a few weeks now. Since you're into RPGs and have a lot of experience with them, you might want to give that one a shot. You might like it because you've got enough experience to deal with the sharp learning curve, or the lack of a lock-on ability and the need to control the camera might turn you off. I like it quite a bit despite its flaws.

Also on PSP, if you liked Burnout, you might want to try Pursuit Force. It has its flaws, but come on - a game where you get to shoot guys and jump from car to car? How can you help but like it? Syphon Filter's an awesome shooter, too. Some stealth, some run & gun, and a lot of replay value.

Hello,

The games I currently have for my PSP: The Lord of the Rings(Strategy Rpg); Untold Legends 1, The Legend of Heroes(My favorite); and Monster Hunter(somewhat difficult for me). I don't have any access to online with my PSP, thats one area, I'm not sure of how or what to do. So in playing monster hunter, I can only hunt for myself, which makes the game very limited, and somewhat boring at times. I also have Dynasty Warriors. Thats about it as far as games for the PSP.

I have Gamecube games, but I have already mentioned most of them already. I have Gameboy Advance: Dynasty Warriors, Bionicle, Final Fantasy Tactics(5 stars); thats all I can remember right now, I know I have more, I just can't remember them, sry. I have some old Final Fantasy Legends that can be adapted to the GBA, from sega.

Sega 16 bit: Jungle Strike(16 bit); Streets of Rage(16 bit), Robocop vs Terminator (16 bit); Eternal Champions (16 bit); more, but this is all I can remember right now.

Sega CD: Dungeon Master: "Skullkeep"(I give this game 10 stars); can't remember anymore right now, I have to go find them to be able to tell you.

Sega Dreamcast: I have some Megaman games and Sonic games; I'm not to sure what others I have right now, I'll have to go find them to see what I have.

Snes: I used to have the Original: "Secret of Mana", but my step mom threw it away. I do still have the Original "Crono Trigger", and I have Crono Cross(PS) the sequel. Legends of Mana; Final Fantasy II, III. I haven't played too many Snes games in over 5 years, so I'm not quite sure what else I have.

N64: Grandia 2, man I'm sorry, I'm drawing a near complete total blank here, oh, the Zelda games, the 2nd one.

Playstation: Brigadine, Star Ocean 2, Vandal Hearts 1 and 2, Loaded, The Original Need for Speed, The Original Wipe Out; Final Fantasy 7,8,9; Beyond the Beyond; Warcraft III, Wild Arms 1, 2; Suikoden 1 and 2; Tales of Destiny; Civilization; Xenogears; Crono Cross; Legend of Legai; Saga Frontier 1 and 2; Legend of Dragoon and others.

Playstation 2: Summoner 1 and 2; Dark Cloud 1 and 2; Dynasty Warriors 2-5(Some Extremes and Dynasty Warriors Tactics 2); Kings Field 1, Kings Field "The Ancient City"; Suikoden 3,4,5/Suikoden Tactics; Arc The Lad(Twilight of the Spirits); Shining Force "Neo"; MS Saga: "A New Dawn"; Stella Deus; Tales of Legendia; Magna Carta; Dragon Quest VIII, Wild Arms 4; Star Ocean "Till The End of Time"; Xenosaga 1 and 2; Legend of Legaia "Dual Saga"; Final Fantasy X; The Legend of Kay; Front Mission 4; The Champions of Norath; Drakan "The Ancient Gates"; Baldurs Gate "Dark Alliance"; Radiata Stories; God of War; Supercar Street Challenge; Need for Speed 2 "Hot Pursuit"; Grandia III; X Men Legends; Jade Cocoon 2; Full Metal Alchemist; Virtua Quest; The Legend of Alon' Dar; PSI Ops and Metal Gear Solid 3. This pretty much sums up just about all my PS2 games, not including the ones I have lent out.

If you have questions concerning any of these, just ask and I'll do my best to answer what I can.

Take Care,
God Bless

Milanis

Yeah, I only play Monster Hunter alone, too. In case you didn't know this, there are ways to get the ad-hoc multiplayer games to play online, too. This is true of PS2 and Xbox as well. There's a program called X-Link Kai that essentially makes your computer look to your console like another console. That is, you don't do anything to the console - no hacking, nothing. Let me know if you want more details. I haven't used it myself yet, because I'm not into playing games online, but I can tell you what I know and find links.

I forgot a PS2 game I was going to recommend to you (sorry to plug the competition, guys) - Shadow of Destiny. Don't mistake it for Shadow Hearts (which is a pretty decent RPG, if you turn off the sound during the fights) - Shadow of Destiny is more what I would call an "adventure" game. You start off by getting killed, and you are sort of resurrected by a guy who gives you a time travel device. You then need to go back and do the detective work to stop yourself from getting killed, among other things. There's no combat that I can remember, just figuring stuff out, but the puzzles are well-structured so that you don't end up having to do something like combine the banana and the wires to make a battery or other random things you would never think of.

You have a very impressive collection of games - if there were a bowing emoticon, I'd be putting five of them :D
