4 million pre-orders of Halo 3

I laugh. Because it ain't our first time breaking big news to the media (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6139680.html?q=Jade%20Empire%20sequel).

First of all, Olin said that he worked at GameStop (http://www.xe360.com/article/No_Title/3826.html). And besides, he has tons of connections with M$, and a few companies. Its no surprise that XE were able to get ahold of a huge story like this.

Second of all, I don't understand how can this not be true? I mean, if you look at the Halo 2 statistics, you would know that Halo 3 will sell double the number.

It would NOT surprise me if preorders are as big as we have predicted in our rumor article, why? Because pre-orders have been open since the announcement of Halo 3 or shortly afterwards. So, why is this rocket science?

It basically means that you just pulled the 4 million pre-order figure out of your ass. They just reached 1 million. Everyone knew that there wasn't 4 million pre-orders and to suspect that many for any game is absurd.

75% of the Halo games were sold in NA. If NA pre-orders just now hit 1 million, it's logical to suspect pre-orders the rest of the world are at most 250k.

How about this--if people read the fucking article they would know I am just reporting what I am told from 3-4 GameStop GMs in this area. Literally on one block we have 3 GameStop shops--3 miles down the road there are 2-3 more. This is a busy area for videogames, so yeah while most GMs may not be told trade info like that, apparently these guys were either bulstering and all told to say the same 4 million bullshit, or a Microsoft rep came in there and hyped them up.

Read carefully--I never report it as fact, I simply report what was told. I posted it in hopes of more substantial info coming out and it did. Because of something I posted an investment company said it was likely that the game sell 4 million this year.

The difference between my rumor though, and well, what you guys may post, is that mine apparently had some kind of credibility to it to be discussed as widely as it was, otherwise they would have just looked at it as another hack posting bullshit out of his ass.

Not to get off topic, but Dakota comes off as a smartass in real-life, he pronounces about everything the same way..I don't think it is intentional, maybe all people from Michigan talk like that?

Anyways, God honest truth, the only retailers in this area that were doing pre-orders like that was GameStop/EB Games ran stores, and they are the predominant game stores in this area.

Sometimes you have to take chances and make a jump..one time I received info that CoD4 (before CoD3 was out) was going to be based around modern times. That information all I can say came from a reliable source, and it is a shame that XE is not TXB, or IGN, or some massive fucking site because I guess you have to be massive anymore to have any kind of credibility, but hey that's ok.

I won't trust one fucking rumor out of IGN ever again when for about a year or so they swore up and down that Nintendo would buy Capcom, or am I the only other person that remember "Megaton Announcement"?

I must have missed that rumor but they have fallen short on many I've read from them in the past so for that I agree. IGN's rumor mill is pretty dry. On the subject of both here, anyone notice IGN still maintains that we'll see Halo on DS?
