the worst thing about these games and most likely this game is how they try to portay huge wars but fall short lol. meaning the most enemies you will fight at once is about 10. i know thats fine on older consoles. but as we have seen in some HS footage its possible to have a hellova lot more than 10 haha. and looking at those screens and the ones in the link. it looks like its gona be the same 10 man groups scattered across the map.

but before you all tear into me :P this is just my observation haha, who knows? they might change it to be alot more guys on screen?

Cool another Dynastie Warriors. The fan will appreciate for sure. But I 'm more interested in a " Kessen " game. ( I loved the first 2 episodes on PS2 ).
But I' m more addict to Sengoku basara ( aka Devil king ) Now.

I too have more interest in Kessen and Romance Kingdom. it seems to offer something on top of the most mindless X button mashing in human history. but that interest is extremely low to begin with, so.

I used to be a fan of this series, but after pt.3, it just got really, really tired. Sure they introduce new characters and personalities from the books, but the gameplay is just tired and F’ing redundant. Very typical.

the thing is, every DW game on PS2 sells around 1-1.5 million or so. wow.

DW needs to learn a thing or two from N3.

In addition to DW, Koei should make a next-gen Mystic Heroes because that game could be so much better if 80% of the enemies didn't disappear when they surround you.

Maybe they could make a fighting game ala Soul Calibur with those hundreds of characters from the Universe of Shin Sengoku Musou...It would me much more fun.

I don't think there are many that would actually buy every chapter. the franchise is s popular and on multipal platforms that you can skip a few games but still, they'll get the sales. what is the last DW game you played? what about the other members?
I only remember playing 2 then jumped to 4XL than the PSP one.

I find kids and casual gamers like the game since they can beat up hundreds. for me, a few seconds playing and that's it. the rest of the game is exactly the same even if it took 100 hours to complete.

Nah, Samurai Warriors has a few differences... I like the horse-riding more, mainly :-p

The last DW I played was 4 so I'm not sure what's been added in 5 though.

Release time frame is Fall 2007.

Graphics wise, I find it pretty horrible. But overall, it looks pleasant, maybe i like the characters design. But i think I will wait for the next iteration. Happy to see KOEI's support for PS3 though.

If they still have Ling Tong and he's still awesome, I'm sold.

The only game that I've actually bought is Dynasty Warriors 5, but I've played 3 and 4 as well on PS2. Anybody who can't see a significant difference between each game really isn't looking. 3 was far easier to rack up insane amounts of kills, and the everything moved a little too fast. The Duel feature in 4 changed playing dynamics significantly, as well as having weapon experience instead of a lucky-dip sorta thing in item hunts. Both interesting ideas that were canned for the 5th. Orbs gave greater ability to customise characters, and orb experience was interesting too. Dedicated slots for saddles and orbs was great.

DW5 was the best by heaps; play balance is better, more characters, a check that prevents you from cheating with two players when getting 4ths and items, and bases. Bases changed everything. Not to mention Ling Tong, and Ma Chao (my other favourite) ending up the strongest character besides Lu Bu.

I played Samurai Warriors 1 1st. Then i played Samurai Warriors 4XL, whatever. Then i lastly played Samurai Warriors on the PSP. All of which i borrowed from a friend.
