I'd like to open up discussion of local rock bands in your area that you appreciate, would like to get them some free exposure, and possibly are your friends or relatives to show everyone of the musicianship that runs in your blood.

I'll keep this post updated if it is popular enough with all the bands listed in the thread categorized by state.

I'll start:

Arizona:
Tucson-

I was at a battle of the bands recently in my area and these are the 2 bands that came out on top, by the way, from Michigan.

these guys sound kinda like red hot chili peppers, they got first place

naked picnic (http://myspace.com/nakedpicnic)
a bit more generic and emo sound, but I think they're good, these guys got second.

I had to edit to add a few more I forgot about, these 2 are no longer doing shit basically, one's a solo act that's a friend of mine, the other is his old band.
