Actually did this a few weeks ago. The cords are now running behind the wall.

When I first got my tv, i wasn't really interested in mounting it. But after installing some high definition setups for people during June, I realized how cool it looked and how much better it would be to have my tv higher up. It was worth it.
My only complaint is that it sticks out too far in my opinion.
