Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War demo due this July

Can’t wait for Dynasty Warriors 6? Koei has you covered with Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, which looks suspiciously like an extension of the Kessen series. If you’re on the fence about this one like me, you can try it for yourself by downloading a demo over the Playstation Store on July 30 (http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20070723/blad.htm). You will need to have a Japanese account to get access to it and this helpful tutorial (http://ps3mods.blogspot.com/2007/06/create-japan-psn-account.html) shows you how to make one.

With the plethora of other blockbusters hitting all over the industry I had no idea this game existed. Should be worth a look none the less.

I thought this game was scrapped or just fell behind somewhere, something like that as well.

Hey, I just played the demo and I pretty much like it... Its sort of a mixture between a simple GoW and Rome.

I am not quiet sure what I am doing though. I "leveled" up like crazy (fighter level 5 and horse level 9) but again waves of enemys kept coming and I killed them like crazy

Here's a few tips I grabbed from gametrailers:


Right analog : Camera control
Left analog : Player control
R1 : Engage or disengage in battle
R2 : Minimap detail
Triangle, Square and Circle : seem to be special actions you can do depending on the squad you have.
X : is for joining squads or leaving them.

The graphics are adequate (you won't dare to ask me to take pictures now, I only have my crappy 2mp cellphone cam here). The intro has quiet nice graphics (the water looks REALLY bad though) and the gameplay itself looks a bit bland (no HDR really and nearly no shaders, but good geometry).


Ya, the controls I learned rather quick, but what I was supposed to do was a bit out of tis world (my kanji reading skills are... well nearly non-existant). I killed at least 20 or 30 infantery troops, but nothing moved forward.
