I made this, because I don't want to have to put spoiler tags around everything I type.

So, what did you guys think? I'll sum up my thoughts breifly.

Great book. It ended rather cheesily, though. Him being able to come back from death was lame. Sure, it took courage to sacrifice himself, but yeah.

I do understand why, though. He was the master of the Elder wand, so it couldn't kill him. it's the same reason that the Cruciotus curse didn't effect him.

He did die in a sense...

The bit of Voldemort that was in him, which gave him his parseltounge abilities was killed.

I re-read the ending, and I got alot more understanding out of it. The wand couldn't kill him, because he was the master of it. It's the same reason none of Voldemort's spells were sticking.

So, harry didn't die, in a sense. Voldemort died inside him.

Wands r teh smart.

I didn't think so at all. I thought it was a rather clever way to please most everyone at the same time. Harry didn't die, Voldemort was killed, and we got to actually see Dumbledore again, which was very nice however brief it was.

The only part that I thought was sort of cheesy was the epilogue. I still enjoyed it, but I think it could have been written better.

I don't disagree. the epilogue was pretty cheesy. But it was more of a "life after is peachy" thing. I would like to know what Harry and the gang wound up doing for a living. did he become an auror, or not? This is pertinent information.

Just finished it an hour ago (g/f bought it for me two days ago) and I enjoyed it. It was better than the Half-Blood Prince. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the epilogue. It didn't feel right. But, considering that the epilogue isn't really apart of the storyline, I'd say it was my favorite by far. Only a few parts made me upset and that was the constant Dumbeldore hating in the middle. I had enough of that and at the end, and I knew it was coming, his remorse of his past wasn't satisfying enough since it was shoved down my throat the whole book.

^Yeah, but most of it came from Rita Skeeter. That kind of made me think the whole time that if it wasn't all rubbish, it was at least exaggerated....which made me feel a little better about it.

By the way, I'm so mad that Fred died. Did that bother anybody else as much as it bothered me?

Well Fred and George were both like the same character. So one of them dieing isn't much of a hit. I seriously thought before I read the book that if any of the Weaselys were gonna die, it was gonna be Percy, but after I read it, it made sense she didn't kill him because then he can barely show any remorse for what he put his family through by siding with the ministry time and time again.

And yeah, the Dumbledore hate was mostly because of Rita Seeker, and I actually enjoyed him being brought down to a more human level. I mean nobody coulda been as perfect as Dumbledore was in the previous books.

One thing I want to know is that about the three brothers who created the hallows. I mean if Harry decended from the youngest brother, and then Marvolo Gaunt was a decendent of the second brother because he had the resurrection stone wouldn't that make Harry and Voldemort distant family.

well it was all rubbish, but all the Dumbeldore hate was strong in the book. And having him at the end talking about it sucked since I heard so much about it throughout the book with trust and the whole adventure...

An overdose of Dumbeldore history bothered me. Just like the overdose of Riddle history in 2 and 6.

Well she never explicitly said that Voldemort was descended from the second brother. In fact, that idea never even crossed my mind before now. I don't think he is though - if he and Harry were related there would be some direct mention of it in at least one of the books. It's too big an issue to just overlook.

Yeah that is what I was thinking too. Just wanted to run it by the people here to see what they thought.

And she said in an interview that they are related, but then again so if half of the wizarding world, like Sirius and Tonks are related and how Sirius is even related to Molly..

Wow.... I just finished it and I barely have words to describe how awesome it was. I think she did a great job ending it. I loved the Hogwarts vs Death Eater fights and the amounts of deaths was sad... Tonks AND Lupin?? :( :( But I thought the ending was good, cheesy.. I dunno, I mean it was a pretty depressing book the whole time so it was nice to see it end on a positive note, and why not, I mean he killed Voldemort, what more was there? At least it didn't end "and after 19 years, his scar seared with pain....." that would have been gay haha

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!

It's not a spoiler if it's in the book. That means it's part of the book and you read it. I mean come on... Spoilers ruin books, spoilers aren't in the actual book tho, that's the actual book!
