New Red Faction is Official

Yup, a new Red Faction is coming. THQ CEO Brian Farrell made the announcement today during a conference call. Eat that, flashy press conferences!

We're assuming that the game is in development by THQ's subsidiary Volition (as with past titles in the franchise), but other than that...expect better graphics, smarter AI and larger environments than in Red Faction 2. The cover art may or may not resemble the work of three-year-old.

I remember a while back were Brian Farrell or someone at THQ was mentioning franchises they had and would be bringing to next gen and red faction was one of them.

I never played red faction II because I heard it sucked and the Geo-Mod system wasn't as good. Though I would love to see what they could do with the 360/PS3 and destructible environments.

I loved RF1.. liked RF2 but not as much. I'll be getting RF3 :-D
