Lebron is a great player and he's not even in his prime yet.
Nowitzki would be another choice but he doesn't show up in the playoffs.

Lebron is playing the wrong sport. He can't shoot worth shit. He's just begging to be a tight end.
Nowitzki is a notorious choker when it comes to big shots and big games.
Nash is amazing, even on the decline of his career he can run for days on end.

Lebron just needs another person around him who can score.
he maybe could've played football, I believe he was a 5 star recruit out of high scool as a football player.

Most talented? Kobe, by a long shot.
If I had an opportunity to draft to build a team, who would I build around to win a championship this coming year? Kobe.
Best player? Kobe Bryant.
To people saying Lebron, I obviously disagree, and I strongly disagree. He doesn't 'have it' yet and he has to prove he does still. He's young, he has lots of time to really put it out there and if he will, we will see it. But certainly not the best player right now.
To Coded - no.. definitely not KG. He's amazing and clearly one of the best, but no. He gets stats, he leads his team, he makes everyone around him soooo much better, but again.. doesn't 'have it.' Lots of terrible endings to what should've been good wins with Wolves' nice cushions or huge leads or streaks or where KG failed to deliver, I think. I think that really separates a Kobe over a KG.

C'mon there has to be more Dwayne Wade fans.
I just watched the guy play and he is like a fucking rocket going across the court.
and then he hurt his shoulder and got taken off the court in a wheelchair

I only follow NBA when someone sends me a youtube link saying "wow watch this" and last time someone sent me a youtube link saying "wow watch this"; it had Wade making other players look like his grandpa.
Injuries are tough though, unlucky.
Hope he can return soon (if he hasn't already).

D Wade is good, amazing, so agile, so fast, so awesome. But we're talking best player in the league and Kobe is definitely still in the same league.

Lakers tried to do that, and where has that got them the last few years?
(looks to me like Shaq had a bigger impact on Kobe's performance than visa versa)

KG has single handedly kept the Timberwolves going for a long time, and while they never really made it past the first round of the playoffs, they had no one else to pull the weight. Both teams(lakers/wolves) have done terrible that last few seasons, while both players have put up impressive numbers. Kobe has made some really bad decisions on and off the floor, and he is a horrible team player. That in and of itself should knock him off the number one spot(because best means all-around, not just individual success). If he can mature some and play with some humility he will definitely be the best in the league, but I don not consider him THE best.........yet.
As for all the youngsters mentioned...I agree they are great, but not the greats today.
I think Wade will surprise all those Carmello/Lebron fans in the long run, because when he is healthy - look out!.

I'm not talking take the Laker's current situation. I'm talking a complete new draft, if I had first pick, it'd be Kobe.

I agree, KG has kept the Wolves afloat. But that's it, afloat. Regardless of Kobe being the point guy, the guy who always, always takes the shots.
They try to get the ball to him every play, and at the end of plays, they just give him the ball and get out of the way because 1) the rest of the team is almost incompetent offensively and 2) that's the gameplan, for him to go in to score and/or try to dish it out. The current Lakers just always give him the ball, because the rest of them can't do crap. All else they had to rely on was Lamar, and that's about it. Otherwise they would give the ball right to Kobe, that was the best chance for them to score because the Lakers were so freaking weak offensively without him.
I'm not saying Kobe isn't selfish as well, and he does often take the ball to the basket or take a shot himself considerably more often than he should. But a lot of him getting the ball also is his team completely relying on him to do the work, completely relying on him solely to get the ball into the basket, or dish it (which again he doesn't do enough). He is obviously completely capable of this and has shown it, but again, not disputing he probably doesn't do it enough. He has still in fact done it many times to win many games however.
With KG, when he's relied on and needed most to perform, he doesn't get it done. He fails miserably so often, he chokes so often at the end of games. Exited at the first round so many times. Even with Sprewell with him and arguably his best chance for maybe to get to the second or third round. KG however, doing all these things, has an uncanny inability where he cannot control games, and put them in the records. An odd dependency problem, he is oddly not able to 'dominate' as is so much more often written on the stat sheet, especially towards the closing of games.
I add the pluses and minuses of all the players, and the 'best' player goes to Kobe, because he wins games, and he does dish it out a number of times and that also helps him to win games. The Lakers managed to make it to the Playoffs and reach up to The Suns before they fell, and they relied on Kobe to do it, completely relied on this man to get them there.
Listen, I don't defend Kobe. I think he's a jerk face, and he's way too ***king cocky. Being great at something gives you no right to be rude or talk down to people or act like a douche. But as an NBA player at his job, who gets it done? Kobe gets it done, and that's with a whole team depending on him and him almost exclusively. It's not about him being selfish, or a jerkface, or a rapist, it's about him being the most capable of making a team, any team he's on, win games for his team, and as an NBA player he does that job the best.
